The Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer comes with a control panel.

The instructions don't make it clear how to connect this.

The fan has a 3-pin plug and this obviously plugs into the 3-pin socket on the panel.

This leave a 3 pin plug on the panel. This can only plug into a 3 pin fan socket on the MoBo.

So do I plug this into the CPU fan socket on the MoBo - obvious I guess but what puzzles me is isn't the voltage on this MoBo socket varied depending on the CPU temp.

If it is then the speed is being modified twice - once by the MoBo and once by the panel so how can you be sure what you will get.

Or should I use one of the system fan sockets?

I've visited the website but this just repeats the in-box instructions which don't help much.

Cheers,

Nigel

you can turn off cpu temp control in bios with most motherboards with amd systems you usually find it somewehre in the cool and quiet section just disable target temp/auto cpu fan

Many thanks.

Presumably, if I ignore the controller and just plug the fan directly into the MoBo then the fan will either run at FULL if I disable the fan control in the BIOS or variable if I leave it on.

So what is the benefit of using the fan controller?

Nigel
