Not always strictly true. Uneducated parents who over feed there kids doesn't help. People grow up with the mindset not to leave anything so the more that's available the more they eat etc etc.

OMG! That is why i eat so much! As a child i HAD to finish my dinner if i wanted desert and i am overweight! I'm gonna sue my parents for potential loss of earnings in the region of £5mil which i coul dhave made as had i not been overweight i would be a pro footballer.

It is true though. As a child, it is the parents who are responsible for your upbringing. It is their responsibility, and their duty, as parents to care for you, to raise you so that you are as strong and able as you can be. To allow a child to be fat/physically unfit - that is a failure in parenting. To do that to your own child is barbaric.
