As with my other thread the s60r has gone back... :(

With a whole dollop of probably fail... i have bought this:

2004 530d

Pretty basic spec, but I need a car pretty quickly and this seems to fit the bill.

Got it for 10700 BMW approved with 60k on the clock

:(

you took the S60R back because it was missing a stamp? who was the warranty with?

530d...hmmm, doesn't that mean you have to put an M badge on it now and so on? Basically make it look as much like an M5 as possible and we can slate you for it.

I do like it though. Not a fan of diesels and their loud smelly power delivery though, though obviously I'll withhold total judgement having never driven a 530d.

Itll be staying as it is :)

Re the s60r, it was more to do with the dealer and the fact I could have bought privately for less with the aftersales i was getting.

The s60r generally needs a FSH, very much so with selling, hence my worry

Whilst I know how good it is technically I think the SE E60 is probably one of the worst looking 'decent' BMW's for some time :(

However the price reflects this so you get a lot of car for your money.

I think the SE E60 looks decent enough, I would certainly have one. Granted it's not as elegant as the E39 or the new 5 series though. The only issue I do have with them is that the wheels look a bit too small.

I think they are 18s. Mine are and they don't fill the arch as much as they do

No way are those 18s....surely.....

Unless it's a perspective trick or something, but dad's A6 (roughly the same size as a 5) has 19s and they look mahoosive. Those have to be 16s?

Very nice, one Hell of a car for the money.
Can't say I like the wheels though, they look wrong to me, i.e. too small on the e60, my brother in law's 525d has the same wheels which look equally wrong imo.

Out of curiosity, is it the photo or does it have blacked out rear windows?

Yes, blacked out rears, but I'll probably remove those

Wheels dont bother me actually, but we'll see in time...

Main issue for me is mp3's for now, maybe later ill look at the wheels - they are "Starspoke 138 17's"

Got the car today and I am extremely impressed.

In fact, easily the best customer services ive had in all my puchases, they really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy.

Car is perfect and I only intend adding a changer or dension mp3 unit to it.

Never been a BMW fan, but based on this experience, I can understand why people keep going back

That seems like a really good price - there's certanly nothing anywhere near that price on BMW approved at the moment. Did you get them to knock much off the price?

They said it was up for £14k at first then dropped to £12k...

The weekend I bought it they said it was dropped again by a grand... so i think it was a decent deal at £10,700. They gave me a new 1 series and mini cooper to use until it was ready... plus delivered the car (and the temp cars) to me and im 100 miles away.

Very happy :)
