Im after a cheap card that would cover me for a bit of gaming at 1920x1200, mainly cod4/mw2 and grid. Im currently running a 7300gt as my gtx 280 is off for rma. Obviously with this current card i cant game for squat, cod4 is like a slideshow on 640 res with lowest settings. Id like something that would at least let me play a few games, even if i had to drop a few settings, preferably an nvidia card.

4850 for 45 in MM

have seen them lol

Id actually prefer nvidia guys, less hassle with changing drivers, as im hoping/praying that xfx replace my gtx 280 with another 280, id actually be gutted if they offered me a 285gtx. Wouldnt be worth getting a second 285 for sli due to current prices, whereas 280's can be had for pretty cheap. 280 gtx sli would be nice to tide me over until fermi comes out, then see how it performs.

If it's gotta be NV then go for a used 250/260.
I did look at second hand 260's, stil pretty expensive, i dont want to spend to much mate, ideally if i could get an 8800gts 512 id be grand, had one before and it handled 1920x1200 gaming pretty well, plus my last one clocked very well. Really regret selling it now.

If you can get a 260gtx at the right price you won't be disappointed , I have two gameing PC's running at 1920x1200, One runs a 260gtx heavily OC'd and the other a 280gtx also heavily OC'd........... you would be hard pushed to tell which one has what card in when playing games, including MW2 and COD4, 2-4 fps at most.

Interesting, we had random screen crashes and fan spin up. Voltage problem's i heard were ingrained into the xfx 280.

I think i've had had 3 problems with xfx cards one after another.

Im on the lookout for a cheap card in MM. Hopefully the rma for my gtx 280 doesnt take to long to sort out, ive heard xfx can be a bit slow.

Request a refund. Put that to another card.

I done that with my 4850 that i RMA'd through OCUK.co.uk, I think they gave me half the value since it was half way through its warranty
