Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

also thinking, you may get the code earlier from play, but the client will be downloaded from the beta page on official website. Which probably wont be early or unlocked early?

Im not sure now myself, i know some euro's have already got the code from other sites. Doubt they'd keep all them waiting amost a week to access the beta so hopefully tuesday is right, if not..play can burn.

Steam normally let you download the game long before its released, well in my experience they have with l4d1,l4d2,borderlands etc

Well ive yet to see anything except valve games get preloads. Crysis warhead was a joke as it was 2 games essentially, the sp then the multi, was about 11 gigs in total.

Aedus, if ea do it right itll require more than an overpatch if its a proper beta.

True, guess I'll decide what to do soon, I want it on Steam, because it's just easier, but I don't want a few gig download on Friday with Virgin Media Throttling my connection after a certain download.

The beta for the ps3 was 900 odd meg, id expect the pc version to be similar in size, retail version will be much larger.

Oh well, will have to see. Wanted to play it on Friday but also wanted it from Steam :(

Sounds like you had bad experiences mate, all i can say is the games i have mentioned all were downloaded at least 2 weeks before the unlock date ready to Launch as soon as the 00:00hrs came on release date:)

im thinking of "perhaps" purchasing this, but i dont want to have to upgrade to play it, how did the PS3 beta play? im running 8800 gtx and e8400 at 3.6, i dont want to bother if im going to get 15fps

are they really giving limited edition copies a huge advantage over standard copies like that steam description sounds?
seems like it will just unbalance the game

All of them LE stuff is just unlocks. Any normal player can get them but they will just have to get some exp first. In the end, the majority of players will have all of them very quickly, even if they don't have LE.

Couldn't really notice the the lower player limit playing the PS3 beta as most of the fighting is concentrated at a single capture point instead of spread all over the map as in battlefield 2.
