Well after giving blood about 2 weeks ago, i got my donor card today and also my blood group. Turns out im O-. Basically this means im known as a universal donor and can give blood to anyone, but can only receive blood from a group O donor.

So what blood group are you?

(always knew i was special :))
 
No idea.

I have actually thought a few times about donating blood but I'm still yet to do it.

My partner is registered as a Organ Dona.

I don't actually know, would be interested though, just got put off blood donating after a family member had a few complications from it :confused: stupid reason too, as I have a lot of respect for people who donate blood, my mum has all these badges from donating, think she's got a gold one by now

Get one of keyrings next time you are there. Make sure you pick up the right one though! Could come in handy if you're in a car crash/stabbed and paramedics need to give you blood as it could save valuable time. Though I'm sure they have pritty quick methods for figuring these things out? Or do they just pump everyone full of 'O-'
 
Dunno.

I was going to find out when I gave blood, but I'm not allowed because I was in a malarial area within the last 6 months.
 
I'm the universal one as well, O-. (I think, key ring is here somewhere)

They recently increased the amount of times I can give blood a year as well.
