DIY SATA to USB cable

Rather than buy an enclosure, would it be possible with just the SATA data/power connectors, USB connector and a bit of cable? Or would some electronics be needed aswell?

you can get them from £5 to £15 on the bay so why bother making one?

You require some kind of interface. It's not just a bit of cable.

I thought that might be the case thanks, will buy an enclosure anyway but for now this will do.
