Street Fighter 2 Theme tune by VertexGuy

It's great as a tribute but that is as far as it would go. I personally wouldn't want Street Fighter music to be heavily rock based.

If anything though, I recon this guy should have a go at covering the Guilty Gear or BlazBlue soundtrack.

If this tribute is an indication of the kind of level of music we can expect from Vertexguy, I believe he would have been able to do something better than the remastered SSF2THDR tracks.

But I can see what you mean, and because it is a tribute as opposed to a fully arranged song, it would not probably fit, but Im sure had he been given the chance to arrange the music properly, perhaps he could have come up with something good.

Well if this guy can work with other instruments and genres then hopefully it could be something good, or it if is a suitable contribution that would go well and fit in with a certain part of the game, because if it is heavily rock based, then it might be too limiting. Even then I'm not so sure if the music would be very "Videogamey-like" so I guess it just depends.

But yeah, I wouldn't actually mind an rock based remix for SSF2THDR (If it sounded good as well), because I hate the remixes in that and so I just keep the original music. That Ken's stage remix which plays when the game loads up is too damn loud as well.

What I would love mostly though is to see Yoko Shimomura contributing something seeing as she was responsible for the majority of Street Fighter II's soundtrack. Come on Capcom, bring her back!

I always liked the 3DO versions of the Street Fighter music that were on the 3DO and Anniversary Collection version of the game.

However, I do really like the SF4 version of M.Bison's theme music.

Yeah they are avaliable on the Street Fighter II - Capcom Generations Remix album, has both original and remix after. I like Zangief and M.Bison's (Boxer).

^^^^^ ****ing awesome!

It's the synthesizer keyboard melody that really makes that track. Oh how I would love to hear a piano rendition of it as well.

You should hear the rendition by Yuzo Koshiro. Dance/Trance rendition but really awesome. Probably my favourite re-done tune from SF!

(With Zangief stage done by Manami Matsumae). Both off the SF Tribute Album :)

To be honest I don't like the first half because to me it's just filler, but otherwise once it gets there, it is good.

Ryu's one on the Tribute Album is hilarious because it's the guy (Takenobu Mitsuyoshi) that does the awesome soundtrack to Sega's Daytona USA arcade racing games. His voice and broken English is legend.

I also like Guile's one as the artist also works for Konami and does a few tracks for the Bemani line of music games as well.
