GTX 295

stick with ATI buddy, look at the reviews/benchmarks on games ect.... they also support DX11, try and go crossfire it would eat up any game for dinner.

5970 then, you may need to move your harddrives to the bottom cage and remove the upper cage (like I have with my 902) but then it will fit like a glove, you'll have the same performance as CF-5870 and save yourself some money at the same time.

well i got the parts this morning.. its all in a running.

just need help on this... how do i test to see if i have got both cards running ok in crossfire?

oh also this.. the cards have 2 connections for to allow the 3-way fire.. does it matter which one i use to bridge the 2 cards?

Love the setup, what happened to the SSD?
Seriously that setup will feel twice as fast with a 160gb x25-m and also in gaming you should get higher min FPS.

Please get a 3rd party cooler for your CPU and OC it. It will benefit those lovely 5870s of yours.

phew it runs warm!!

my old system with only a 7950 and a 2 core cpu runs at 39c (both mb and cpu)

this thing runs 53c cpu and 50c MB

what is SSD?

Solid State Drive.
X25m's are your only real choice in terms of cost & performance.
If you get one, i recommend the 160gb version over putting a couple of 80gig's in raid 0

Oh and yeh, I agree with the others, you definitely need 3rd party cooling on that CPU.

ahh SSD.. i get it now.
yes that would be good as the HD is the only thing letting me down on the windows scores.

as for the cooling, yes im looking into some options, not really sure what to go for.

as i type this, i have 44c on the CPU and 48c on the MB..
the cpu does go upto 60+ on load.. i need to bring that right down

was it not beneifcal to move the HD/SSD to the lower compartment? or are you trying to cool them in one nice flow direction
