Hola!
I've had this problem the last couple of weeks. My computer starts freezing as in literally stopping every 20 seconds for a few seconds. I've cleaned the computer with as much stuff I can to make it cleaner and also installed new drivers. I have a feeling it might be something with my graphic card. I'd love if anyone have had the same problem or knows how to fix it? The issue is pretty much that the computer freezes for a few seconds every now and then which drives me crazy. Thanks in advance.

Comp info:
Processor- AMD Phenom(tm) 9500 Quad core processor 2.20 ghz
RAM - 3327 ram
Graphic card -ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro

Nothing really, it just suddenly started to act wierd with all those freezes. I've tried pretty much everything I can to fix it and starting to lose hope.

virus/spyware/malware scans?
check taskmanager to see if a) anything suspicious is running and b) if your cpu or ram max out when it freezes.

windows done any recent updates that could have caused it, sounds very much like something is running that shouldnt if cpu is maxing out for no reason.

Hmmm.... No malware, and we can assume it is a CPU issue. That CPU is similar to mine and has never given me any problems. When was the last time you cleaned your computer. If never, that may be your problem. Get an air duster and get rid of the dust from the case, especially the CPU heatsink.

If that doesnt work, check out your CPU temps. If it is very high, check your thermal paste, and maybe look into a new heatsink. Also, what is your airflow like.

These are very basic things but just checking!

well ,
im sure iv had this problem before, like it freezed on me and then the screen went black and then came back on. and sumtimes the computer used to reboot sumtimes.
the way i fixed this, i bought a new graphics card and her i am no crashes or problems since.

or else..ther is sumthing wrong with ur ati drivers maybe

I just cleaned my comp of all dust and also cleaned it in terms of programs I don't use etc. I installed new drivers for my graphic card some days ago in hope that it would fix it. But nope, nothing.

I've got approximately 75 processors working in the taskmanager atm.

And yea it's pretty much that problem, it freezes for a couple of seconds, screen can turn black once a while and then instantly comes back to normal. Might this be something with my graphic card, is there any way you can test it so you can see if it works properly or not?

It actually freezes as I write this so it gets me abit annoyed.

Try out your motherboard onboard graphics.

Try each of these steps, if one doesn't work, move onto next:

- Reset all Mobo settings (bios) back to defualt
- Reset CMOS (if you take battery out, be sure to unplug from mains and then press on button to clear any 'lurking' electricity)

Have you tried using onboard VGA graphics? I jsut read your above problem it very much sounds graphics card related.

sounds like your graphics card to me.

perhaps a newer card is on the book's ?

have you got another card to put in your pc from a friend or something ?
