It could work out better, as said, you didnt really get 32 on 32 games in BF2, as they where all spaced out in different areas. It did mean you could select what fight you took part in granted, but I dont really think you will notice it. When you did actually have a 32 man vs 32 man choke point though, it was a spam fest from what I remember.

its clever/sneaky what they've done.... on gold rush its all focussed around one area until you take the create then you move up. So technically its like 5 maps in one if you get me?

My biggest hope is that the PC version gets more options than the consoles. Right now, you can't choose which server you join, you can't choose which squad you join (although you can join squads via friend invites), you can't communicate with other squads via text or voice, there is no commander or squad leaders to coordinate squads, you can't see who is talking when someone uses VoIP, and several other issues. We do know that the PC version will have a server browser and the ability to host private servers, but little else.

I rly hope this isn't an issue for the PC version. I guess the talk bar will mean it won't be. This comms issue killed Frontlines stone dead and also put me off BC1 on console.

Strange, as a good few of the issues described above (squads, leaders, chat) don't seem apparent in the (rather awesome) PS3 Beta videos HERE. Lack of team chat is a given in a console game too, surely?

meh bf1942 had the best dog fights and straffing people in jeeps/on foot was epic

i had the best dogfights in bf2 being a pretty good aviator and all

You're forgetting the rpg and the tracer darts, also theres aa vehicles on that map. Won't be as easy hopping about as it was in bf2.

is often the case with pre release games on steam tbh, not always £15 but ive never prebrought through steam because of it, would rather have the box as well.

last time I checked it was £8 more than plays version, and that could be because its limited edition, could be because easy of access, or most likely because people are willing to pay it, and at the end of the day they are in it to make money.
