Any good mmorpgs that aren't about dungeons and dragons?

Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings Online (Unless you want to suggest that Tolkien copied D&D? :)), Planetside, Earthrise, Anarchy Online, plenty of them, but I feel this isnt a genuine question and just an excuse to have a moan.

Champions Online
Global Agenda

but tbh, I'm hard pressed to find any MMO that's half decent without it being Fantasy (excluding Eve and some other unreleased projects)

fallen earth or whatever its called, starwars galaxies ( poo now ) etc etc, visit mmorpg.com the list is endless.

Second Life... oh sorry you asked for good, not pointless.

Pirates of the Burning Seas has potential but some say lacks depth.

Does Aion count as fantasy to you? Kinda cyber-demon stuff, modern setting.

If you can wait until next year, Star Wars: The Old Republic looks VERY promising.

Fallen Earth's brilliant. Bit of a steep learning curve at first but the options that open up are so refreshing to see. :)

Slightly clunky combat system but if you like the freedom that an MMO offers, it's excellent. Great tradeskill system too.

Not really, the good ones are either passed their sell by dates or have been destroyed from the inside out. If they hadn't destroyed SWG then I'd very likely still be playing it.

The only MMO I'm looking forward to now is FFXIV. While it does have magic and warriors and monsters etc, its done very differently from normal western MMO's and because its the successor to FFXI, I know it'll be good.
