Chemical Ali is executed in Iraq

Your right, but that doesn't stop be from having faith in the 'ideology' of a fairer society, one where we are more united globally and death penalties abolished across the globe, and a UN that has real power.

Wasn't the UN created by America to unite europe so eastern europe wouldn't fall into Russia during the cold war.

Isn't UN headquaters in New York?

Why should countries give up there sovereignty to become a global society?

Well there was a coalition, if you choose not to acknowledge our troops efforts then thats your choice.

How do you figure that?

Why is it in the wonderful land of OcUK that if you mention a grievance against the reasons for war, you automatically denounce the efforts made from the troops?

Oh try the other one eh.

You haven't gave a reason agianst the war, you just said "team america".

Why were you against the war?

Team America, **** yeah.

Are there any reasons why I/we should have supported the war in the first place? Thats the more apt question now I'd say.

And don't say gassing of the kurds decades ago, because again who are we.. world police?

Say that to the kurds?

He was an evil dictator that butched and murdered his people.

It was a world coalition force so I suppose it was the equivilant of the "world police".

Exactly, and who gave us (US/UK) the right to police the world?

No one.

Did anyone ask for us to intervene? - Well what was the first gulf all about then leaving tinpot evil saddam in charge, why did we leave the police work to round two? A few gaping holes in the case here.

What about all the other genocides commited in the world, want to go invade the world tomorrow?

Looks like we have a lot of policing and invading to do..

My point is that it wasn't just USA & GB.

I think each area needs a different kind of response. It's also not so simple as "just invading". Isn't Dafor's oil fields run by Chinese oil companies? I can't quite remember but it would be mean that invading wouldn't be the best idea and a different approach is needed to help the people.

He had four death sentences, I don’t know why they waited so long.

I believe they held off because they wanted to conclude the trials into some of his other crimes, particularly the most recent trial for the attack on Halabja which was quite horrific. It allows a sort of "closure" that hanging him after the first death sentence wouldn't have allowed, you might argue it makes no difference whether he is hung after the first trial but equally it doesn't make a lot of difference to whether he will be executed to allow justice to run its course in the other trials and hold him accountable.

I don't think the death penalty is ever justified but that's almost beside the point here.

Yep. He's got an account on here called Youstolemyname and regularly posts transfer gossip about Liverpool.

Looks like there's not many SA regulars in here then. :D

Good, he killed thousands of innocent people. Calling the people who executed him just as bad is such rubbish, they got rid of another bit of evil in the world.
