*** Gigabyte 4870 1024 @ £99.99 inc VAT *** Includes CM:Dirt 2 & Aion ***

Dirt2 was the full game.

Sorry, but what did you expect with Aion- a lifetime sub for free? It's an online MMO where you have to pay ~£10 every month to play.

It was? Well lucky for some that it was given out as it stated then.

and no m8, dnt be stupid. I was expecting the full game e.g. the 30 quid one that i would have to buy in the shops with the knowledge that i would have to purchase game time. I know what the game is and i know you have to pay to play but my complaint is that it said you get aion: tower of eternity voucher free, just like it said you get Dirt2 for free. So yeh, kinda ****ed at Overclockers failure to inform consumers that it was only a mere trial. Pathetic of them to state it was free with the graphics card even though you can get the trial tree anyway. Will never be buying from here again with that crap happening

Although, i would like to here from Fatboy as h was the one who created the deal from what i can see. As he states you get Dirt2 + Aion: Tower of Eternity vouchers free. I want to know what makes Dirt2 a full free game but not Aion. I've cleary been ripped off.

I dont get this at all. Is it the full game but you can play for three days or is it not the full game i.e. not the complete game, missing levels e.t.c. that you can play for three days. IF it is the same software you would get if you bought the retail game then i am afraid i don't know what you are complaining about. It is a monthly subscription MMO which you would have to pay for not overclockers. If overclockers have given you a voucher for a version of the game which you cannot use to subscribe and pay a monthly subscription yourself then overclockers should apologise to you and give you a copy of the full game so you can pay the monthly subscription.

Wow, you big baby, stop whining.

Aion is a subbed MMO, you get the client free with a free trial to use, to play any longer you've gotta take out a sub for the game.

Is it REALLY that difficult to understand?

As if they're including a gimped version, that'd be more effort than it's worth over just letting you have a free trial subscription to the game for a few days.

For example, I own Final Fantasy XI, I bought it, but I didn't like it (realised I'm not a fan of MMOs) so I don't have a subscription on it.

See how that works? You buy the game, then you pay a sub on top.

Maybe you're just feeling butthurt because you've assumed Aion would be free to play or something.

Also, OcUK have done many free game promotions, last year I got free copies of GRID and Call of Juarez with purchases of graphics cards.

ok your clearly slow or something...

I know Aion is a subbed MMO. Yes you get the TRIAL client with it being a...trial obviously :/ If you want to continue using the game, u must BUY THE DAMN GAME THEN A SUBSCRIPTION TO FOLLOW.
Is that really that hard to get into that tiny brain of yours? seriously?
The trial is easily obtained for free anywhere else e.g. off another aion player. that does not mean he is giving me the free game. It means he is letting me TRY THE GAME OUT. If i want to continue i must pay the 30 quid to get the proper game key instead of the trial key that was givin to me.
Now read it slowly as i may have typed to fast for you to understand.

"Aion is a subbed MMO, you get the client free with a free trial to use, to play any longer you've gotta take out a sub for the game"
Actually dude, to play longer YOU HAVE TO BUY THE GAME FIRST.
I accept your apoligy

It is not the full game mate, no. As you can only reach a certain level, just exactly like a demo. So to answer your question, no it is not the same software you would get if you bought the game, but instead a free demo that can be obtained anywhere else, e.g. off a current aion player.
I know all about the monthly subscribtion, and by no means expect overclockers to pay any subscription for me. They have not provided me with a a version of the game that i can subscribe to, as if i want to actually start playing it for real, i have to purchase the real game at around £30.

Ah now i get get ehpablo, i can honestly say i don't think overclockers knew that you wouldnt be able to use that voucher code to get the full game. I have had a few trial games which you have a limited time to play the game to try it and then to carry on playing you just set up your subscription and carry on playing on the same software as the trial. All MMO's only survive on subscriptions and usually give the game away free (except at launch when they will charge a fee for the software). maybe my fellow scouser, Kylew, was a bit harsh ;)

Have you sent overclockers a webnote about the voucher code? It may also be worth contacting Ncsoft who i think are the developers of the game and tell them they should give the game away free as you would be paying them about £120 a year to play it anyway. e-mail is

you got nothing to lose.

yeh tahnks for the address kingy.
To be honest, my main frustration is at the whole fact dirt2 was the free full game but aion was a free trial that can be obtained anywhere for free, so when i bought the graphics card (specifically cus Aion made it the best deal) i was actaully only paying for the graphics card and getting...well...nothing for free. Overclockers should state this on the webpage of the graphics card saying that it is only a trial so people dont tthink they are getting the full game.
Ive opened webnotes and to be honest they were quite useless, stating what i already knew with the game being a trial and bribing me with 2 other games which i checked up on amount to about 7 quid (not close to the 25 ill have to pay for aion)

I probably was a little harsh, ehpablo does seem to be whining a lot and shouting rip off and scam a bit too readily though.

As for missing it being not the full game, I should have read the posts more closely and disregarded what others were saying.

Clearly the game was advertised as containing "Aion" it mentioned nothing about it being trial where you have to buy the full game for the RRP afterwards.

Rather than it being a rip off, it's either a simple mistake or something's been overlooked.

You really shouldn't cry rip off and go on about how you're shopping here again as it doesn't even appear that you've put much effort in to trying to sort this out and that you're just being a baby over it.

Try to directly contact Fatboy or Yewen, they're usually great for sorting issues out related to store purchases.

According to their product page, it includes "Aion" not a "trial".

I've found that contacting staff via webnotes isn't the best thing to do, you'll need to contact Fatboy or Yewen and they'll sort it out for you.

I think i would be happy with a HD4870 1Gb (even though its the gigabyte one) and Dirt2 which must be about £20 itself for a ton.

i was thinking of buying one of these so i could crossfire my 4870

Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4870 Golden Sample Graphics Card at only £86.99 Inc. VAT

but looks like there all gone

If it's the steam version, which I think it is, its price is £30 (it was £15 last week on special offer though, which I took advantage of :p).

Im just very frustrated at this as ive sent various webnotes but to no avail of getting the proper aion game, and have no idea how to contact fatboy or yewen as i cant seem to find the mail icon to them.

And yes im sorry for claiming its a rip off ect, just got really annoyed at the whole fact of me not getting the game with the gfx card :( lol

The page still says

- Includes Aion: The Tower of Eternity Voucher

It does not mention its just a 3 day trial that you would have to uninstall and then buy the full version and set up a subscription and then start again.

Is this your first purchase from Overclockers ehpablo?
