No-one really seems to care about matching tyres here?

I was even advised by the garage just to get 'the oldest tyre' replaced.
How about a tyre price comparison? Seriously.

The amount of BMW X5 cars that have mismatched tyres is unbelievable. If you cant afford to run it, then dont buy it!

And this is the problem - people spouting stuff like this. It becomes gospel truth.

Why do you spout your nonsense all the time. So what if people buy budget tires on a work horse or daily driver !!

If its a performance car then i understand as i have one but not a daily runner with 75bhp.

I thought we were talking about mis matching tyres? Quite ironicly it seems to be you who is 'always' spouting nonsense.

Yea because only performance cars go round corners or need to brake harshly in an emergency situation

Sorry mate i not been on here long but every motor thread i go in you seem to be spouting your nonsense and supreme wisdom when you drive a 530i or whatever it is.

One Roadchamp, one Goodyear something-or-other, my old Mk2 Golf was a treat to drive down a wet Welsh backroad, you could get one wheel to lock and hold a beatiful drift.

Not recommended of course.

Out of interest has there ever been a proper test to show the difference in performance between a car with matching tyres and the same car with 4 same spec tyres but of different brands?

Fifth Gear did one years back - a Renault Clio on premium, budget and mismatched tyres. The difference was quite remarkable.
