Great jokes! But my decision to get one, and only one, 5970 is about the cost of the 5870. After the taxes, which are 14% in Canada, a single Sapphire 5870 is just over $700! A 5970, after tax, is $804. That is a 2-for-1 deal in my book. Your prices are different. It's cheaper 4 me to get a single dual card than 2 singles at only $100 less each.

Fair enough if it's just $104 more then go for it. But i would get a bigger screen though, Otherwise the card will be saying " who's bought me to power this little screen".

Good plan :) Hmm, I made a mistake. (see above link) my calculator tells me that $720~$447=$273. (5970 price - 5870 price). Oops? Maybe the 5870 is more cost-effective. And, I could buy 2 more 5870s later, and maybe even get better performance than 2 5970 would've gotten me.

I would get aleast a 24" screen min, 30" would be ideal but cost £££.

Then get a 5870 then with the money you save get a 24" screen win win;)

A 24-inch monitor or a 42-inch 1080p LCD HDTV: which gives better eye candy? I'd like to go big.

I would go with the 24" screen imho. I used a 37" hdtv before doesn't look good, but thats just me. If you've already got a 42" try it and find out might be ok for you, if not get a 24" screen.

To be honest, my old PC is currently at the shop. One morning, I turned it on, and I could not get to the Windows desktop. Why am I bringing this up now? I wrote everything on this thread on my PSP! ROFL and the PSP's web browser is not powerfull enough to follow the link to that monitor article, sorry.

That's me bored of this, tried to help you out but if you want to use a old 19" crt screen with a 5970 then thats up to you.

That 30" screen is the dog's dangler's yes it cost's over £1100 but if you want the best then get that one (i.e Dell Ultrasharp 3008WFP 30" Widescreen LCD Monitor).

forest i have one thing for you

I will buy an insanely expensive monitor once I get an insane amount of money by picking it off a tree. What? Money does not grow on trees?

Lool and buying x2 graphics cards for about £1,000 is not wasting money away on a 20ich crt monitor with a cheesy rollerball mouse, cmon forest gump it's not rocket science :D
