stretched tyres

So is this supposed to look good or is it for people who can't afford the correct size

No, there's probably no difference in cost tbh.

The real purpose is to get wide wheels on a car with little arch work. Stretching the tyres lets you get it lower with marginal rubbing and hence forth thou are dubbing.

I thought they were (g)Imp purple? (yes I realise, just like winding my colleague up with his purple car that he no longer has).

Nope, definitely blue. Not a hint of purple in that colour either.

Now this IS purple.

Streching only looks good on certain vw's if they're slammed and wearing some nice alloys (usually some polish porsche alloys). A bit of smoothing usually too.

Looks crap on your average halfords body kitted chavmobile.

ok, basically the idea is to stretch the tyre onto the rim allowing for the sidewalls to move inwards.

The idea of doing this is the tyre dosent pose a problem for the car with rubbing arches etc, and allows for lower cars and wider wheels.

Is it dangerours ? well theres been no major reports of them going wrong, 1000+ bhp drift cars slide around tracks for hours upon end using stretched tyres, so for me thats good enough to say my r5 turbo wont magically pull the tyre away from the side wall.

The only thing i can see thats diffrent is there is less tyre sat on the road.

Im just needing a stretch for a 15inch 7j wide wheel.

meh, its hard to drop the front of the car properly without stretch.

and i absolutely cant stand it when the wheels sit stupidly far inside the arches

granted, some people overdo it though

repect to the man for drifting it that low though
