Wouldn't weighting it make more sense?
i.e. for average % male,
Total number of men = (population of liverpool * 0.484) + (pop. of manchester * 0.488) + (pop. of leeds * 0.487)
% men for the cities combined = 100 * Total number of men / (pop of liverpool + pop of manchester + pop of leeds)
% is a %![]()
To do it accurately you need the total population of each city and perform a weighted average calculation.
Not for a percentage.
