Howdy ho

Im about to go through stalker again in preperation for the call of pripyat.

I was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of some graphical mods for it. I would rather not go with any mods that change the game story or mechanic wise. I just want some mods that change the textures, motion blur, weather etc.

The cosmetic ones.

Yes most mods are compatible with stalker installed via steam. Some mods need you to have launched stalker atleast once so the exe installer can find your installation folder.
 
Stalker Complete 2009- its like a super patch- fixed all bugs for me that had plagued the game the first time I played it through. Doesn't change the story either IIRC. Oh and the graphics are a lot nicer/ weather effects look cool.
 
I've played through the game 3 times. Vanilla, Oblivion Lost + SWO 2.2 and most recently Stalker Complete 2009. Out of them I think I prefered the OL+SWO combo the best, mainly because the weather on the final map had been changed so that the sun was out instead of it being apparently hard coded to be a dingy cloudfest like Vanilla, atmospheric though it was either way, I just preferred seeing the NPP in the sunshine :)

Stalker is firmly in my top three games of all time.
 
Nearing the end of playing through with the Stalker Complete 2009 mod, it really is superb, I stalled on the game in vanilla, now I'm loving it. Changes so many things in sensible ways, leaves the plot untouched & just tweaks the gameplay to be better.
 
I bought stalker in the steam sales. Think I might download this complete mod for it, instead of playing through vanilla. good shout?
 
I tried to play it but the mouse acceleration put me off. I tried disabling Vsync and looking through google but came up with nothing but other people asking the same question, no one seemed to know a solution or anything.

Might give it another go with this mod however.
 
Playing STALKER through for the 3rd time, this time with STALKER Complete 2009. Graphical updates on it look good, and thankfully no changes to the story.
 
Hey folks

First of all i would like to say a big thank you to all the responses. I installed the mod yesterday and it is fantastic. Just the thing i was looking for. Plus its re-assuring to know so many people have acknowledged the brilliance of this game. Never has one game used a dark and for-boding atmosphere too such an edgy effect. Utter perfection.

Now, are there any mods out there that improve Clear Sky? last time i tried to get it going it was too bug ridden to really do anything with. Are there any mods that generally improve performace and make it close to playable?

By the way do any of you know how to fix the performance issues with Clear Sky? if i put the lighting effects as DX10 i get stutter at 1920x1200 maxed, the game goes to like 10-15fps and my pc handles Crysis very high all 1920x1200 2xaa with 30fps average so is there a fix for it?
