plz take a look for me?

ah cheers buddy, been waiting all night for some1 to give that we nugget of info. you think the ram i've specced is ok. sorry, as u can probably guess i'm new to all this!

The RAM is fine, but it's not ideal. it's dual channel, which isn't utilising the potential of the board. Triple channel would be much better, and you could get 6GB of it for just £17 extra, might sound like a bit now, but it's a 1/3 more RAM and triple channel, something to think about!

EDIT: Just realise dit's not a triple channel board, I personally have received all of my i7 upgrade i the post today, I wouldn't of done it without a triple channel board and RAM, seems like a bottlenecker to nto do it :(

I've made a few changes that might help you,

i5 runs on 1333 ram best not 1600.

PSU is a little high, I would get the 650W, which will have plenty of power for you system. (7 year warranty with Corsair)

The dvd drive is faster at burning and would blend in better with the case (IMO)

Would also get two SpinPoint F1s in raid0, for a lot more performance. (comes in 320gb, 500gb and 1tb)

This set up should save you a lil cash and gain performance :)

*BTW you won't need 6gb of ram, its a waste of money at present. Many people like big.wayne explain how you will never get the benefits out of i7 when it comes to bang-for-buck ! And i5s (or AMD) are better for gamers imo.

Don't waste your money, trust me. If you really had to, waste it on a SSD ! Would see much better speeds in boot up and running :)

thanks oneandonly, i've actually changed my case choice to the cm690 pure black widowed after some advice in the 'cases' section and also changed the psu to this

tho would it hold up to a 2nd gfx sometime down the line?

I wouldn't go lower than 650W, but thats just me.

Nicer choice in case, hate the scout lol. Another nice one out in a couple of days, the advanced version, very nice: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-196-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=29
