First time road kill

Was passenger in my mate's car one night when he hit a rabbit on a country lane at 70(ish ;) ).

There was an almighty THWACK as said rabbit connected with and took out the front number plate, followed by a KATHUNKA-THUNKA-THUNKA as it bounced between the road and the bottom of the car as we went over it.

would have been nice and tender for you to eat then

people are starving , i hope you lot arent wasting perfectly good food! people would kill for a nice rabbit in africa!

I have killed at least 3 rabbits and 4 birds, 2 of them were suicide attacks as they flew into my windscreen.

RIP little bunny rabbits and birdies.

My 1st rabbit probably survived, just smacked its head with the sump.

Doubt it, I hit a fox with the sump of my dad's old Rover at about30-40mph, snapped it's neck, busted it's skull and it was laying their blood pouring out of it's mouth, rather dead.

i hit some kind of big bird once, i think it was a pheasant. i didnt stop but when i looked in the rear view mirror all i saw was a big cloud of feathers floating about.

another time i was turning a right hand corner at about 10mph and a pidgeon just walked into my path, the passenger side front wheel went over it and it crunched loudly, and the car slid sideways a couple of feet. it was gross.

Doubtful. You'd know if you hit a pheasant, they are heavy birds. I've gone over a pigeon and left a cloud of feathers before, so that's more likely.

A friend of mine ran over a badger and it got caught on the hand brake cable or something (Fiesta mark2) and dragged it along a bit :(

I know a guy who hit a badger at 90mph and wrote his car off :D
I wish i'd gotten pics, you would have never believed it was a badger he hit, you'd have thought it was a horse, made from lead.

I've hit a few rabbits and a bird of some description. Felt a bit guilty but was more woried about my car.

I live on the Isle of Wight, so hitting rabbits is a fairly common occurrence over here.

A more interesting occasion was taking out a pigeon or seagull at 110MPH (Private road, obviously) with my wing mirror - Wing Mirror - 1, Bird - nil. Not even a scratch.

Hit a rabbit square on at quite some speed with the JDM LOL front numberplate on my old Legacy. A quick thump and I see this bloody rabbit shoot upwards in front of me. Zero damage except I lost the front plate, which was held on with sticky pads.

Went back for a look and found a wiggly line of intestines 20 yards long down the road, then 50 or so yards further down was the rest of the rabbit. Very dead.

Mate of mine used to drive a Volvo 940 and someone had nicked one of his headlight wipers, so he was driving it with the arm pulled forwards so as not to scratch his headlights when using the washer, hit this pigeon and then stopped at a motorway services, came back to find a couple of people taking pictures as the wiper arm had gone up the pigeon's backside and out of it's head.

2 rabbits
1 pheasant
1 blackbird :(
1 snail... It musta been sleeping under the wheel arch or something. I was bombing it down the A13 and i all of a sudden see this snail on my wingmirror, it stuck its head up slightly, then flew off into the darkness... LOL :p

Ive killed bigger.
Ran over a dog not so long ago, but it was a stray. Plenty of them in Thailand.

Playing that game are we!?
I killed a cow:p:(

I have a friend that swerves for rabbits =/:(
I ****ing hate it when he does, not only because i think its cruel but its down right dangerous

Took out a whole family of ducks crossing the road once. Was messing with my CD's and didn't spot the buggers. A couple of the chicks may have survived but I doubt mummy did, heard something bang on the bumper and it must have been her head!

Taken out a couple of cats too but they're everywhere here, can't help it.

All I've ever done was run over a rabbit deliberately - not out of malice, but because it was in dark and rainy conditions and there was another car behind me. Trying to stop or do anything out of the ordinary would have been risky. So I just soldiered on. Sorry my little bunny :(

1 cat
1 ferret
1 bird

All the above was still alive which often makes it worse the cat was 3am looked a right mess not surprised as I was doing 70mph ,the wheel went right over the white ferret which looked ok but shocked (vet)same with the bird .Tried to find a vet for the cat but at 3am .......it run away but with a very different face from normal .

A squirrel, and a polecat thing on the mainroad once

This thread has brought back memorys of my manager where I used to work :o

He got into his car one morning and backed down the drive, looked forward and the neighbours cat was doing backflips on the drive floor with blood '****ing everywhere' < His words.

He reckons it was asleep between the wheel arch and tyre, Horrrrrrible :(

I'm yet to hit anything so far, hope it stays that way

I remember the first week my dad got his MG, he'd just come from a Vectra so wasn't used to the car being so low. Saw a dead badger slightly flattened in the road, and forgot about the height so decided rather than risk swerving he'll just go over the top of it.

Heard a rather loud thud :D Turned up at the carpark for work and there were bits of badger all over the front of the car. And the smell stuck around for weeks

I've taken out loads of wildlife over the years, up to a Deer! We have hairs and rabbits all over the place and I did several in one hit once too! Never nice but you learn NEVER LOOK BACK when it happens, nature will sort it.

I've hit a few rabbits, country road leading to my house had hundreds of them doing suicide runs across the road. Cat's seem to be common roadkill around here, we had three of ours taken out by cars :/
