Test drove an E46 330i Sport

Cheers, just spoke to him and he is going to get me a price.

I noticed my side repeaters looked a bit mouldy, I have ordered new ones from BMW, quite expensive, I can see this car costing me a fortune lol.

The tyres that are on it are awful, nasty budget crap, I don't know if it's just me (first rwd car) but it's lethal in the wet, I'll take it easy ;)

It'll be the tyres. Mine feels planted as anything (even in the wet) on Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's. Never had the back end step out on anything other than sheet ice, and I (read: "DSC") corrected it without fuss.

I honestly can't believe how it grips so well for a 1.5tonne car. My guess is the wide tyres.

How do you rate the RE050's? It's a tyre I would consider as a replacement, also Falken 452.

At the moment though despite being rubbish tyres they have loads of tread, think I will have to take it easy for now. The rears are the wrong size too, 235/45/17 instead of 245/40/17.

Brand wise, it's running Hero on the front and Admiral on the back

I have done some pricing up, a full set of Falken FK452 will cost £284, best price I can find on the RE050A's is £398.46.

With over £100 difference I think I would go with Falken lol.

Saab 9-5 Aero, Bridgestone RE050A and Goodyear Eagle F1 were both better.

The Conti's wear as fast as the Goodyears while not having as much grip.

Fox:

Ive seen a 1 owner 330ci on an 05 plate with 40k on the clock from a main dealer for 12k. Everything bar sat nav so got leathers etc, FSH, 6 months tax and years warranty.

How does that sound to you?

Slightly expensive... is it an m-sport? If you could hagle down to under 11k that would be a very good purchase.

But I'm not Fox so wait for his advice :D

Yeh its got:

M Sport Steering Wheel, M Sportbody Kit, M Sport Rear Spoiler, M Sport Seats, M Sport Suspension, Multi function steering wheel, Park distance control, Leather, Cruise Control

My gear knob and side repeaters arrived today, I also made a start on the cleaning inside.

I have a sidelight out now, think I will change them for LED ones.

It's gonna be that price because it's an 05 plate - that spec is also standard on any Sport :)

I'm sure a 2003/4 one with similar miles will be a lot cheaper - the trouble is finding one in decent condition near enough to you I guess.

Edit*

Mr X, don't change the sidelights for LED ones, it doesn't look that great, more chav than anything else!

Hmmm... a quick figure check has shown that they are offering below book value so 12k may actually be a good deal, but if you can get them to knock it down a bit more then you could have yourself a bargain. What is the interior condition like? Is the car well looked after? Full BMW service history?

My advice is... don't listen to me, wait for Fox :D

Are you not having it detailed?
