Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

Do we know for sure the Steam release in March will be the same day as retail?

Remember MW2.....

EDIT: No it doesn't.

Retail = 2nd March

Steam = 5th March

Where does it say that retail is going to be 02-03-2010?

play.com says

£26.99 Free Delivery

RRP: £34.99 | You save: £8.00 (22%)

Pre-order. | Due for release on 05/03/2010

and Game says:

Release Date: 05/03/2010
Pre-order
37 days to go

And steam says

Available: 5 March 2010
This game will unlock in approximately 1 month, 1 week, 1 day and 7 hours

Or am I missing something (other than interweb sarcasm maybe ;))?

I've got a mate who moved to the us a few years back. He wants to get a beta key with play.com but they won't accept his card due to location.

Is there any other way he can do it without the shop taking the payment straight away? Does anyone know of any other shops that offer the beta AND won't take the money right away like play.com do? I would do it for him off my credit card, but because i live in the uk, the spare key i give him might not work in his country.

It's his Credit card that's stopping him, and i said i would do it if all else fails, but i'm not certain the key would work for him

One of the US retailers is offering Beta keys with all pre-orders. They don't charge until the game is shipped either.

Not sure whether I can mention the name but all he has to do is look on the Battlefield Blog page.

Just looking on the Gamestop site it says....

An order cannot be cancelled once the pre-order item or code has been supplied.

If i can push 6mb/s download i will be very happy, but am guessing i be lucky to push 1.

That's how it should be tbh if you take the beta you shouldn't be able to jump out of your pre-order, not right at all that.

It's legal. We are well within our rights to cancel. It's not our fault play.com haven't to put it in their T&C.

After this im sure they will, an IMO rightly so.

However places like fileplanet have forced us down this route with their subscriber only betas. And also many games now do beta and no demo or demo way after release, so its the only way for peeps to try a game early

Play should at very least take the money when you pre order for the privilege of giving out the beta key
