iPAD, what's the verdict?

I'm waiting for the release day where someone buys one, opens it in the street and pulls out a sledgehammer.

I won't be buying one ;D.

wont these be incredibly easy to steal? people could just grab it and run, easily, they need a wristband certainly

What does it do that my mobile phone and laptop don't do? Touch screen is overrated, its too big to be easily carried around.

However, I imagine everyone will rush towards it like they did the iPhone.

As someone said in the Windows 7 touchscreen thread, really snazzy and all that but not that much use for your average user. Very much a niche product I suspect.

They'll sell a heap, and then they'll sit about unused as there is no reason to have a tablet computer - they've come and gone. Can't really see this revolutionising the market place.

Does make me want an IPhone even more though.

It'll be good at what it does, and full of nice touches, but I dunno. I just can't really see a use for it. I'd only use it for internet and games and stuff on lunch at work, and floating around the house. I can just use my Macbook for that and it'll be much better at everything.

It'd be nice as an eBook reader I suppose (I'm expecting it to have/get good eBook apps) but not as good as an *actual* eBook reader and no doubt vastly more expensive.

I'm a huge Apple advocate but right now I just can't really see a market for it, not at the price it will undoubtedly be.

It seems to be a big iPod Touch. Too big to easily carry around/use a touch interface, not real benefit in terms of features.

Quite underwhelming.
