So, I am in the market for an new PSU, and stumbled on an Antec PSU called: Antec Neo HE 650W. I couldnt find any specs because Antec has replaced it with a new Neopower line.

So opinions, connections and specs if you know anything please! :D

Should be made by Seasonic so way above those SmartPower and TruePower (1&2) time bombs.
But because of its age efficiency is probably rather low by todays standard.

EDIT - I've removed my question since it was relating to the situation 4+ years ago now and any Neo HE available today won't suffer from the same issues.

I think your right about Sirtec. Basically, is this a cheap and nasty brand that will blow up or something I can rely on?

I don't know enough to say for sure one way or the other.

If you look at this model, it is what OCZ rebranded as their 700w ModXstream. Likewise the 550w became a 600w OCZ and the 450w -> 500w. For most folk it would be a perfectly decent PSU since hardly any of us really put heavy demands on them, but it's nothing special when compared to the likes of what Seasonic, Enermax and CWT produce.

That's just one of many lines they offer though so some could be truly awful and some of the higher wattage examples might be very good.

I see, so they are more of a manufacturer than a retailer. I havn't heard any bad things about the brand, but there aren't any reviews. I think I will go back into the mainstream. Just that it popped up for a good price on our favourite online auction site ;) and was looking at an opportunist purchase!

Think I will go back to browsing through OCUK, 750w is excessive anyway!

Oh BTW, has anyone had experience with Atrix PSUs, that is the poor quality one I'm replacing in fear of it spiking my components!

You can hardly find anything out about them it seems but they are made by Unitek Electronics, along with another brand called Colors-IT (yay for the UL number/OEM listings that jonnyGURU has). What they produce seems to vary from the mediocre to the worst of the worst in true Q-Tec style so umm, I figure since you're managing to run a 9800gtx that yours slots into the mediocre category, lucky you. ;)
