is 500W PSU good for 2x radeon 5770

It depends, if its some cheap non branded psu no chance but a good quality ocz or corsair 500w i would have thought would be fine for 2 5770's they aren't exactly power hungry.

Hope this helps.

If it's a decent one, should be fine.

My sig pc idled at 175w, and at load would be around 260w.

Since replacing the 4870 with a 5770, these dropped to around 125w/210w, so 2x 5770s probably use the same wattage as a single 4870.

I remember those, never actually bought one but practically every online PC retailer stocked them (even OcUK). Gold-coloured casing with pink-coloured fans, clearly a winning combination... :p

Edit: Seems they still exist (don't buy one though): http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm.230.html

I had one. Got rid of it I even give it a whack and left it sitting in it's box with a great big dint in it. I removed the dint some time later and sold it on ebay. shameful!

I have used a 4GHz clocked i7 plus 2x crossfired & overclocked 5750's on a Corsair HX 520W PSU. It can be done, but you will be on the edge.
