ATI Catalyst™ version 10.1

Known Issues Under All Windows Operating Systems

The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under
the Windows operating system in the latest version of ATI Catalyst™. These include:
  • [ATI Catalyst™ Control Center] Changing to deinterlace mode may default to adaptive deinterlace mode instead when playing videos
  • Setting Eyefinity group may not work for some configurations with DVI and displayport devices
  • Creating an Eyefinity group on the non-primary display might not function properly
  • [ATI Catalyst™ Control Center] Hotkeys for rotations may disappear after disabling rotated Eyefinity mode
  • With active display in clone mode, creating an Eyefinity group might not function properly and message prompting user to disable the extended desktop might not popup
  • ATI Catalyst™ Control Center might not remember the position of the fourth monitor after displays are repositioned in Eyefinity grouping
  • Intermittent grey screen or vertical line corruption may randomly appear on the screen
I see the GSOD has been mentioned in the 'known (but not resolved) section'. I guess that means it hasn't be fixed just yet.

It says on Catalyst Makers page.. that its a mistake that its reading as 9.12 :p

Hmm so although these are the 10.1 cats the driver is older than the 8.70 version.

The 8.70 version is probably a 10.2 alpha, or some such. They normally have about two/three driver sets on the go, so now the 10.1s are out they'll probably start the early work on the 10.3/10.4s.

Remember that they stick to 12 sets a year and those are WHQL'd, no idea how long Microsoft take with them but I'm guessing you could easily lose a week waiting. So doesn't leave a lot of time to write, test and then release them if they where only working on one set at a time.

Just had one hell of a problem, the HDMI audio driver does not work, heck of a time installing, had to go back to the 9.12 version then install 10.1 without the audio.:o:(

Then all it said was 'the driver has not installed properly' its 21.36 and I havent played a game yet :(

EDIT : Everything is ok now, thing is i havent got a clue what I did to get it back. ???????????????????????????????

Hmm.. Think I'll hang back and not use these for now.

Unless, a 5770 Crossfire user can rate their experiance with these?

I've found 9.12 (non Hotfix) to be the best.

Same here, no problems using 9.12, so will wait and see a bit, it dosnt sound too promising so far.

At least thats a start and its not being left out, zero SSOD here though (was till messed with bios settings for my OC).

Anyone know if these new drivers mean that 120Hz monitors now work with ATi 5870 cards? The release notes state; "120 Hz is no longer missing from display modes for specific digital displays" so does that mean you can now use a 120Hz monitor okay?

I'm not installing these 10.1 ATI Radeon™ display driver 8.69, running a leaked ATI Radeon™ display driver 8.70 version no prob's at all.
