So i have had built a race frame with cobra bucket seat for using the wheel while playing forza..

Im going to have two "poles" going up either side of the seat to mount some small speakers on to give the sound effect some punch...

Now if i buy a simple 2.1 setup i will get a small sub too and was thinking of mounting it against the underside of the seat to give it base to make a vibration of the car through the seat.. ( the sub has to fit in between the standard rails that come on the cobra seat)

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ps playing in the setup is mint :)

pics coming soon...:D

The problem with most subs in small 2.1 systems is they are 'ported', which means they force air out of a smaller opening to amplify the bass.. this isn't going to work at all well if you just bolt the whole enclosure under the seat, you probably would want to strip the sub down, and take the speaker out, bolt that directly to the seat frame firing up at the base of the seat (Provide some spacers to allow air to escape) If the amplifier is also in the enclosure, perhaps just bolt the now speakerless enclosure with amp close by..

For the ultimate, you can get bass transducers, these are exactly design to bolt to the seat and couple mechanically, thus they really really shake the seat.. However they are expensive.. although I've seen them on the 'bay going for £120 delivered from the US.. You are looking for the ButtKicker gamer editions, or make your own using Aura Bass Shakers (or similar) and your own amplifier..

Personally, for the price, I'd get an 8" or 10" cheap car subwoofer speaker (£25 or so), and buy a cheap amplfier, bolt it directly underneath the seat, use some spacers to create a gap to allow air to move out quickly, and it'll probably blow your socks off...
