I managed 36mpg on the way to work this morning, 70mph was the fastest I got to.

My speedo was literally 99.5% accurate - no more than 1 or 2 mph different from the digital readout at any speed, and my digital readout used to under-read by about 1 mph versus several different GPS systems that I've used!

Well the detailing guy let me down, he didn't bother turning up or calling me so I give up with him.

I spent the afternoon cleaning the interior myself, I'm quite impressed but it is still have loads to do.

I might have a bash at the paint work next week end, clay then 3 stage it.

I've found this as well! My speedo is bang on accurate and it's the first car i've ever seen that doesn't overread.

Perhaps the GPS is under-reading, 9mph out at only 75mph seems rather a lot.

Fitting incorrect tyre sizes can have an affect on the Speedo accuracy; maybe the Fox guy is running bigger wheels?? Mine is around 2MPH out at 70MPH it under reads.

My car is running BMW 18's on the correct tyre size.

The 530d is also out by the same - and its on 16's with the correct tyre size

Ohh I see, the majority of the time incorrect speedo readings are due to people fitting incorrect tyre sizes. If the d has the same overreading maybe its just the way the 5 series is?

Mine reads exactly the same as the GPS, but I have the wrong size tyres, for some reason my rears are 235/45/17.
