What would you do if everyone just dissapeared?

So you maintain that petrol isnt flammable then, or that a fuel tank cannot be ruptured in a crash.

it's flammable, it is not explosive. There's a risk as with everything. But if you knew anything about materials and fuel then you would know the risk is miniiscal.

I know that petroleum Fumes are highly flammable, and a spark will ignite them very easily. The spilt petrol ignites as you scrape a metal JCB or Bulldozer shovel along the road, the fire travels along the leak into the ruptured fuel tank, the remainder of the fuel and the confined space will do the rest. It is you who knows little about the risks.

to say that petrol cannot be explosive in this situation is just plain wrong.

I think survival would only be manageable on a few factors.

Population erased at around 3am. This meaning, clear roads.
All shops somehow open, good luck breaking into tesco. So would need to be a weekday.
Petrol stations open, so weekday 24 hour Shell etc.
More importantly perhaps, failsafes. I dont know how the internetz work in regard to this but it would be good to have access to spotify so you dont go mad over the next 50 years. Solar power can provide the electric you need, but what about servers at their end, and ISP's etc?

Drive on the pavements.
Drive through the front doors of Tesco
Siphon petrol from every other car on the planet

Internet... now I know you are barking ****ing mad.
Why would you possibly want or need the internet to survive.

I swear some of you need to get out more.

fail on so many levels..
Tesco is hardly impeneterable..
Fuel as said above is in abundance, theres also diesel avail at farm yards, and random fuel trucks all around the country.
Why would you want the internet and spotify?
If you really want music.. why not just get CDs from shops?
Jesus...

Most shops esp supermarkets have anti collision barriers.

most cars have anti-siphon devices.

Smashing a window isnt so difficult with the right tools is it? Neither is hacking through a thin metal door.

It wouldnt be difficult to puncture any cars fuel tank to be honest.

haha...i literally just finished watching the pilot eps of the twilight zone when i came on here and its called Where is everybody? So I think youll find the answer on that eps! lol

or would it? dont wanna go causing no explosion or there would be no last person on earth!

yea it would be simple, a hammer and a nail wouldnt cause any sparks or anything - besides you dont have to do it yourself, it wouldnt be hard to set a device up to do it for you.

There are more failures of the human race in here than I thought possible.

Where are these people being brought up that are so sheltered from real life?
You see it on TV too, people being squeamish about where their food comes from and stuff.

God help you all if something disastrous really did happen.

Some people have no imagination, for almost every problem there is a solution, you can achieve great things, especially when you have all the worlds resources at your disposal! :D

Don't you know petrol is explosive and every building in the world be be flooded and disease will get you :D

I love these scenarios
I have thought about this before

This island could easily become self sufficient, especially for lonely old me.
There are enough boats here (and I know enough) to get to the mainland whenever I wanted. Enough fuel to last quite a while. Canned food will last my lifetime. I'd probably raid places for the best wine I can find, no doubt other controlled substances and live a quiet life of reading and masturbation.

edit: and proper LOL at some of these replies!!! "good luck breaking into Tesco" is my favourite I think.
