Ive been with VM for 2 months and want to upgrade my package from what i originally chose. I know that after 12months+ you can get retentions deals etc, but as a 2month old customer can I haggle prices for upgrades too?

So you basically want to upgrade your BB?

I'd imagine they will offer you the equivilent deal to a new customer but you will have to sign another 12 months IF any deal is offered.

They are not adverse to cutting you a bit of slack on upgrades, I asked for a quote for a upgrade for 50meg from 10meg broad band, they gave me a price which I said no thanks to thats too much, was then offered 20 meg for £1 a month a more for the next year.

would love the exact same thing, who did you speak to, retentions or normal upgrades?

Don't even bother. The amount of time you will spend on the phone waiting, only to be put through to perhaps the worst customer service I have ever known (a call centre in India where NOBODY has any authority for anything) and then told that you are speaking to the wrong person, spend another half hour on the phone waiting, only to get a very unapologetic Indian woman saying that she will pass you to somebody else.

Don't even bother.

If it wasn't for the fact that Virgin are the cheapest, I would not be with them. They are useless.

At everything.

Their CS is useless, agreed. However when I did have a problem, it was the indian call centre who solved it in 2 minutes, this after 3 previous calls to native english speakers resulted in mental trauma :)

on the contrary, i've had no bad dealings with customer services, always been quick to get through etc, maybe 've been lucky.

None existent. I left in November.

What a truly horrid company to work for :)

Ohh, if you know anyone who works for VM, you can get put on the friends and family deal which is what i'm on :)

Indeed, they will offer you the same price for the package as a new customer, and then you'll start a new 12 month contract like a new customer.

Ive been with Virgin for 3 years now, I have XL TV, M phone, L broadband for around £46 a month (my bill always varies by 1 or 2 pound).

Ive just got off the phone with them and I couldnt get anything off them, all I wanted was a free V+ box.
