8800gt to upgrade

It has stood me in good stead and am still happy with it but reckon its time to move up and I understand BFBC2 needs some proper grunt.

BFBC2 isn't relaeased till March, and as you have not upgraded for some time. I would hold off for a while. As there isn't that much stock around at the moment, and everything seems to be at an premium

I'd hold off, I'm also running 8800GT and have money i've saved and am itching to spend, but the card handles everything fine.

whats my cpu like nowdays been out of loop for a while, will it still kick it or will it bottle neck 5880?

CPU is fine - running a Q9550 @ 3.825gig here and its more than enough to power 2x 260 in SLI which is generally faster than a single 5850.
