Hey Guys,

I've ordered a HD5870 and some cables to be delivered today. Problem is I was out on it last night at an OceanSize gig and have just got home and haven't been to sleep yet. So i'm pretty sure I need some sleep but if I go to bed i'm gonna miss the delivery guy as I reckon i'm needing about 8 to 12 Hrs to recover. So i'm pretty much just sitting here hungover as hell with a stomping head ache thinking I need to stay up or i'm screwed.

Think I can call these delivery guys at any point to find out if they know what time they will deliver the package or do you think they couldn't do that ?

Meh.... well any advice would be appreciated, i'm thinking the beers in the fridge would be a good start to possibly get rid of the hangover :P

Kev

you should have stayed in and got some sleep knowing you had a important delivery today.

or....just got it delivered for monday after you have recovered.

Thanks for the reply mate, I certainly hope it gets here soon, if before 12 that would be perfect. Trying to find something to keep myself awake. Don't wanna pass out as this will be my second 5870 so gonna crossfire em, do you know if it's easy to do that ? I was thinking I would just slap it in and put the crossfire cable on it and away it goes, I hope it that easy anyway, any ideas ?

Sweet well I hope that's all it needs, I just got an Antec True Power 750 W PSU last week to go with this set up, I'm a bit concerned it might not be enough but I used one of the online calcs and it came up saying it should be ok. Just read some post on here with people saying you need 900W PSU's to crossfire 5870's ! Are they just correct or just over compensating ?

Depends on the rest of the system mate. Some people run them just fine on a quality 750w.

In another post someone said you need 520w for the 2 graphics cards alone so the rest of the system would have 230w to play with.

I read the 520W aswell on a tomshardware benchmark, I'm not running anything too mental, set up is ....

Q6600 @ 3.3 Ghz + 8 Gig @ 1000mhz ram + Samsung F1 TB + DVDRW

I hope it works ok on that, well I guess there's only 1 way to find out tbh.

Tried to call DPD but can't get through, I really just want to sleep so bad right now, I think I might go hit the sack for an hour and hopefully not miss it :(

LOL, that's not a bad idea but it's pretty cold. I think i'm gonna crash on the couch with livingroom door open. Hopefully he'll knock lould enough. Ahhhh need some sleep !

Our doorbell is wireless so i stick it by my bed if im expecting a delivery :D.

Your PSU will be fine for the system mate. There are others on here running more kit in their rig than yours and theirs works fine.

Your door bell sounds awsome mate ! Can I borrow it ;) Well i'm fading away here slowly, defo gonna kip for an hour and set alarm, I will be so gutted if I miss it. Night Night for now :)

Muhhhhaa ha ha ! I just woke up and then 2 seconds I heard the door bang, must have been fate :) Just got my 2 power cables and my Saphire HD5870 :) Be back in a bit and hopefully crossfired. This is better than Christmas..........
