Right... First of all, I have really really good metabolism, that its peeing me off a bit.

Anyways, my main problem is gaining weight/muscle mass.
I've once tried to get fat by eating 4 quarter pounder burgers for every meal of the day (3 times a day) and anything I could eat in between those meals i.e. Sandwiches, Cheesecakes, Cakes, Pasties, Pies etc. After doing this for a few weeks (3 or 4 weeks), I finally managed to gain over half a stone. So I thought great !!

Anyways, after the harsh fatty diet, I went back to my normal eating habbits i.e. Eat breakfast (cereals), lunch, tea (mostly lots of meat) and a sandwich and milk before going to sleep. A week or so later, I lost all the weight I gained :(

Anyways, the question is.... What can I do to gain weight (preferably mostly muscle mass) without having to constantly eat like a pig? Or do you think with my metabolism, Its impossible? :(

I'll preface this by saying I'm not an expert but generally speaking most people who describe themselves as having a very fast metabolism aren't eating enough to put on weight. If you haven't already done so have a read of GordyR's sticky at the top of this forum, it tells you how to build muscle and gives you an idea of what to eat - work out roughly what your current diet gives you in terms of nutrition e.g. protein, carbs, fats etc then once you've done that it will put you in a better position to see what you need to increase.

You could get protein poisoning which sometimes leads to death. You should probably consult a doctor before taking such steps.

I assume sarcasm?

I also have a fast metabolism. You DO literally need to eat like a Pig yes. That simple. Not 12 quarter pounders a day though. That's a) disgusting and b) very unhealthy.

First of all, eat more. You probably think your eating a lot, but in reality its probably about 2000-2500 calories, which isnt a lot.

The simple fact is, if you want to get bigger you need to eat more than your body uses. The best way to do this is by getting enough fat into your diet as there is 9 calories per gram, compared to protein and carbs which both have 4.

Get your bodyweight in lbs and x it by 16-18 and you will get your needed daily calorie intake to grow.

Then eat things such as red meat, eggs, cheese, milk, any sort of green veg, oats, olive oil, humous, chicken, pork, lots and lots of fruit(keep high sugar fruit low, try and eat more berries)nuts, salmon and many many many other things which I cant think of because theres so many!!

Get yourself onto a good program like an upper/lower split or 5x5 etc and make sure you get a lot of sleep.

Read the sticky. Unfortunately you aren't going to be able to gain and hold any significant muscle mass eating a bowl of corn flakes, 'lots of meat' and a sandwich. :)

Well, I do have the habbit of eating unhealthily i.e. not enough fruits and veggies, mostly eat meat (I'm a meat person), however, I am definitely not unfit... I'd say I'm far from being unfit.

I just read the sticky, I think I'm going to try a bit of them see how I get on (If I manage to stick to it that is). Unfortunately, with the time I spend in studying and going to university, I don't know how I'll manage to find time to cook and stuff my face with food. Any advice on how to get quick meals with high calories? Do you guys cook your own freshly made food? or eat anything from outside (Sainsbury's, Tesco's, Takeaways etc.) and just read how many calories it contains? I cook sometimes, but only in the evenings as I'm usually busy in mornings and afternoons.

So you ate 4x quarter pound burgers 3x times a day + cakes, sandwiches, pasties, etc everyday for a month?

No offence but you are talking out of your knot son.

You can say anything you want tbh, I don't care. I know what I eat. I ate burgers because they were one of the cheapest (If not, the cheapest) meat I liked. You just won't believe how fast my metabolism is :( I'd get hungry every hour or hour and a half (depends If I ate quite a lot or A LOT).

I'm not asking for your trash tbh, I want advice.

Edit: That was my biggest attempt to gaining weight. Desperate times.

You post utter tripe like your OP, what do you expect? Put crap in you get crap out... simple.

It's pretty obvious you've done little research of your own and just decided to post some kind of attention grabber to see what happens. There's not a chance you've done exactly what you claim... and even if you did, you're still an idiot, so stop being silly and go and do some reading, I recommend the sticky as a good starter.

It's about the best advice I could give you.

You're very charming... You make this forum a great place to be (sarcasm). That is all.

Sounds very much to me like you're looking for a fast, magic wand type solution tbh.Gaining good weight really isn't rocket science. It simply requires effort.

And there are a ton of articles out there on the subject, including our very own sticky at the top of the page.

I'll keep it short as I'm about to hit the sack. You want to gain muscle weight?

1) Consume at least 1-2 grammes of protein per pound of bodyweight spread throughout the day getting as much of it from food as possible ( I eat at least 5 times a day).

2) Eat more carbs! No more than that...more..moooore!!! And good carbs too, forget the burgers.Eat rice (wholegrain if possible but yeeurghh) ,pasta , oats , eggs and snack on nuts / seeds etc.Compliment with veg.

3) Devise a training program consisting of mostly compound exercises (multi-joint stuff).Include Bench press , Squat , Deadlift , Military Press , Bent rows , Chins , and Dips.Start by working out hard 3/4 days a week.

4) Sleep well.

And that's it.Using that I gained 2 stone in around 8 months.Do it for 3 months and marvel at the difference. After that, change your workout to suit your goals.A recommended read for workout advice is Here.A fantastic workout program for getting you started (I used it for 4 months) written by Mark Rippetoe,a hugely well respected strength coach.

But I can't help feeling that I've typed up all that for nothing..because to be brutally honest with you all the diet and workout knowledge is useless unless you really, really apply yourself. And it's at this hurdle most fall at.
