aftermath of a crash

Obviously a scam though, doesn't really matter about the C class driver admittingly liability to his insurers since he would be considered at fault anyway for going into the back of you.

HOWEVER, you are likely to be "at fault" for bumping the car in front, and the fact they got out claiming they had sore necks basically means that they'll be blaming you, insurance company pays for their made-up whiplash, etc.

He wouldn't be at fault at all. He managed to avoid running in to the back of them and was pushed in by the Merc.

whiplash comes on after a short time doesn't it? so clearly they are trying to scam you. The old braking suddenly and making a claim is not a new trick, something the police might be interested in when undoubtedly you start getting sent paper work from dodgy 'doctors' and 'solicitors'.

Out of interest, were the 3 guys white british?

happened in Bradford in an old Toyota corolla so im going to go out on a limb and say it was a group of 3 Asian lads, also there was someone a victim of this same situation on this board a while back wasn't there?

Sorry, but that is just unfeasible. I would think you are a proper douche if you try and get the police in on a minor bump... not to mention they don't have the capacity to come to every small incident.

I wouldnt say that is good advice.

What appears to have happened here is, they thought they could catch you unaware.. you wernt but unfortunately the chap behind was.. report it.. if anything it builds a profile of the guys which will stop them in the future.

I'll just add, that from the situation you've described, you MUST report this to police, you have a legal obligation to do so.

If there's two bumps on the car in front/front of your car, you'll probably be held partially accountable jointly with the Merc driver, as you'll be seen to have driven into them before being shunted, or shunted then you drove forward again (foot slipped on the clutch or whatever). One bump = entirely Merc's fault, unless it's a scam.

Just as an update, I did report it to the police. The desk officer at first suggested that it was racist to suggest this was a scam despite the fact that I neverf once mentioned the effnicity of anyone involved. I did get to speak to someone else who said that the driver/car had no history of such incidents, but did suggest that the road in which he lives in has history.

My insurance broker helped me to complete the form and did say that it seems like a clear cut case but as it is a traffic island then there is always an element of doubt introduced. my car has very little damage at the front from hitting the tow bar of the car in front, Im hopng that this will support the fact that I avoided the crash in the first instance.

I do have a registration of a witness, a car entered the island from a junction to the left of the crach and was close to hitting the side of my car. he didnt stop but Im hoping that he will have saw everything and be willing to help out.

I still now feel really annoyed at how low people will stoop!

I'm confused. Why would the officer suggest it'd be racist if you hadn't given him some idea of what ethnicity the suspected perpetrators were?

My GF lives in bradford and she said this is a major problem.

people take the brake lights out and then slam on, so you hardly get a chance to stop.

its rubbish how some people live there lives! scum...!
