For my mates 18th.. I want to get her a bottle of Rose.. nothing expensive (£10ish)

But im sure I saw a bottle the other day that came in a pink box.. cant think where.

I want it in that box

With a budget like that you may as well pop into sainsburys and get one that looks nice.

> looking picture : > wine (I'm sure it works like that, right :) )

I always just look at the picture on the bottle and pick the best picture. I know I like white zinfandels. My friend has a theory that if the bottle has got a big indent in the bottom it's a good wine, don't think we've drank enough to prove that theory yet ;)

Gallo Family White Grenache is a great Rose. Everyone I know who's tried it has loved it, especially the women. (Don't let the name fool you, it's in no way white)

Go to your nearest wine shop/cellar and ask for some real advice. Personally I am not a fan of Rose, but some plenty of awesome wines can be had for about £10 a bottle, just not in supermarkets I've found.

There are some very good ones in Majestic but you would have to buy 12 bottles (mixed) or ask in Oddbins.

gallo's white grenache or zinfadel, it's like lambrini for posh birds.

this!

I love it :D

hmmmm.....*runs off to add it to her tesco order*

J.P. Chenet is also a lovely rose although I much prefer White Grenache

but if you want to buy her something more fancy go for a red wine just take a bit of a sweeter one ;)
best thing to do go to a wine shop if you have one around your place, they can normally give you a bit of an advice as well if they know what they're talking about :D

The indent in the bottom of the bottle does not necessarily mean that the wine is good, it is a guide to the ranking of that particular wine within the Winery. Hence, the lower end wines of a winery will have a shallower indent and the superior wines will have a deeper one befitting their rank.

I am not sure that this is true in all cases, but I was lead to understand that this is the general rule.
