There appears to be constant bickering between those that support ATI technologies vs those that support NVIDIA technologies in many existing threads. This thread is to host these discussions and thus reduce the amount of similar discussions in other threads,.

Who are ATI?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATI

Who are NVIDIA?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia

Lets have a sensible discussion. NO PERSONAL INSULTS.

We will generate and update a "troll" list of people to ignore, which will be contributed to by both NV and ATI supporters. TROLLING WILL NOT BE ACCPETED.

List:

stulid

In the interests of discussion please DO NOT QUOTE PEOPLE ON THE TROLL LIST.

Thanks

I had a ati 4870 for all of two days, realised it was junk, took it back to the shop and got nvidia gtx260.

Morale of story is, ATI = THE SUCK

I don't understand the bickering. I don't care which company the card is from.
I buy a card which has good performance for price.

Fanboys are just as socially retarded as people who go around bragging that their car is better because its a 'Golf'.

Unfortunately, there are a load of people around here that simply refuse to acknowledge that and only come in to threads to derail them off topic.

That's the simple truth really, a lot of people get called fanboys over nothing.

Currently ATi have the price to performance ratio "crown" which suits me, I'd happily buy nVidia if they started playing nice of course, unfortunately though they're reluctant to be nice for the time being.

I am looking forward to FERMI of course and I'll be all over it if it's got a better price to performance ratio, as much as I don't like nVidia for being dodgy with their practises, I'm not stupid and I wouldn't throw my money away if they were better value.

Everyone can you post Nvidia and ATI features to add to the OP and benchmarks so we can have them in a central position,

Don't put "stream" up on the features list. I'd hardly call it a feature really, I'm really looking forward to OpenCL maturing and being the standard.

nVidia has stereofinity or whatever it's called.

ATi were way ahead on tesselation, nvidia rubbished it for years so I only think it's right it should go under the Red team's name. :p

I've always doubted ATI's driver quality. Nvidia have been fine, just gotta make a custom fan profile coz they will let ur card overheat so u have to replace it.

nVidia do have 3D Vision, however, ATi have their own "version" now, well I can't remember exactly what it was called now.

It was a third party collaboration or something.
