Hey guys,

I'll be down near Bournemouth with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and would like to go/do something nice, but don't really know what's down there or in the surrounding area. She has a better idea than me as she goes to uni there, but I can't really ask her; Ideally I'd just like to say 'Right, lets go out' and drive her to wherever without her knowing the plan for the day.

So... Ideas? :D

Please guys, ideas that will please a GIRL, not YOURSELVES

Are you taking the mick?

I honestly find Monkeys dull as hell but my girlfriend LOVED monkey world in the same way she absolutely loves anything involving cute and fluffy animals - zoos are paradise.

Surely this is the same with most girls. Monkey World is a genuinelly brilliant suggestion.

Above post is right. And while your missus is at Monkey World, you can leave her to it and drive across the road and go look at some Tiger Tanks. You could then give her some plastic army men from the gift shop as a present.

Ice Skating at the Bournemouth International Centre :D

Possibility, I'll look into it :)

go upto winchester and goto marco pierre whites brasserie blanc

Looked it up and it looks really nice, but Google Maps quotes 50 minutes, bit too far :/

Ok ok, maybe she would like it, but I don't think it would be suitable for Valentine's... I think she'd prefer a bit more romantic rather than watching a load of chimps humping each other :P

That sounds tempting xD

What sort of thing are you thinking of doing. That is the main thing.

Day time, night time, meal, etc. ?

Just something fun to do during the day really, and hopefully an evening meal at a posh restaurant :D

As has been mentioned, there is skating going on at the BIC till the end of Feb which could be a good thing to do with her. Although it's £7.75 for an hour's skating, which means you ideally should have other plans too. :)

Places to eat, depends what type of food you want and how much you want to spend, places vary from like £15per person to silly costs. Everywhere will require booking asap really to be honest.

Last time I took my (now ex) out for a meal in Bournemouth it cost me ~£30 for the two of us, a different time I spent ~£70 on a meal for the two if us here, so as I say, can vary a fair bit. :p

The skating sounds good, I managed to ask her in a way totally unrelated though and she says she can't skate at all, yet when I offered to teach her, she sounded happy enough :P So that might have to go ahead :)

As for the food... I'd be willing to spend about £30-40 each, after that it's just silly money.
