Just finished Dead Space, was my second try at the game since i stopped playing the first time because i thought it was a bit sick. Turns out that it is actually a very well put together game and story. Infact one of the best shoots ive played since HL2.

Is RE2 as good or better? Ive not played any of the other RE games (got fed up with the play style - much like Silent Hill games)

I realise that the camera angle is there for effect on Dead Space, but **** me is it annoying.

The only games I would now call even remotely scarey are silent hills, resident evil (pre RE4 aka the old style) and dead space.

Totaly different games, Dead space has tons of atmosphere whereas resi 5 is more full pace action. I did not finish dead space but i did finish resi 5.

Id recomend you play resi 5, graphics are great and works very well with a pad.

Same genre... kinda... well I guess Resi 5 could be put in the action genre instead of the survival horror to be honest.

Either way, they might be some what similar, but they're also quite different.

The only real way you'll know is if you go and play Resi 5.

Found Resi Evil awful - control system I just didn't get even with a 360 pad. Dead Space on the other hand was atmospheric, completley engrossing and damn scarey!

Completed Dead Space and would recommend it to any fans of this type of game. It should be noted that I though Resident Evil 1 and 2 were absolutely brilliant, howevr, RE5 was just awful.

RE5 was far, far too short. I got it for £15 on special offer but i still considder it a waste of money, I would have been gutted if i had spent £30 or more.

Both are excellent you cannot compare.

Dead Space has an amazing SP campaign but on PC no incentive to replay it.

RE5 has one of the best co-op experiences ever as well as some intense MP survival arena's & lots of content to unlock. The only way (without cheating) to experience all of RE5 is to get 100% of collectables & other ingame items this then unlocks all challenges & costumes. This will take you around 50 hours with a guide maybe 75 without. Capcom as always load value into their games by forcing the player to fully explore & collect everything before letting you have all the goodies ;)

Yeah, I never feel Capcom games are a waste of money, from the point of view that there's not much content. They always seem to go the extra mile compared to most developers.

I have never thought an RE game was a waste of money before either, as usually they take a while to complete. RE5 took me like 8 hours and that was taking it easy as well.

RE4 on the other hand took me a lot longer.

I CBA completing it time and time again to get a new costume, but each to their own i guess.

In my opinion Dead Space is miles better.

Resident Evil 5 really disappointed me. It doesn't have any atmosphere. It just feels like a complete rehash of Resident Evil 4.

However I would say Resident Evil 4 tops Dead Space.
