Check out this build, I almost cried it was so terrible xD

Good for him. He's thought about it, bodged it and is happy with it. :)
He's got more reason to be proud than most of us that just bolt bits together like Meccano.

I'd prefer connecting things easily and produce effective, stable and sleek builds than getting out a drill from the shed and produce and George of the Jungle scene with fans swaying from the case all wrapped together in sound proofing material mixed with a plane crash xD

I thoguht my cable management was bad in my case, but mine is an absolute master peice compared to his.

But as long as he loves his 'super quiet' case, and the heast it'll probably now make, good for him :P

Seems to have achieved what he set out to achieve, and the questionable craftmanship is invisible - what's the problem? At least there was a point to this case mod other than creating something that looks like a rave in an electronics store.

Thanks for reinforcing my point. :D
You and I will stick to mindlessly bolting things together with no thought. How can you be more proud of your build than this guy who has CREATED his own?

his case looks pretty much flush to the floor so i am wondering where his modded bottom intake fan is meant to draw air from
and also after worrying so much about airflow and cooling he has went and stuck it within an inch of a wall and another pc on either side

I don't actually get what's the big problem? The exterior isn't visibly different and you're not staring at the interior all day. It should have pretty good airflow and low noise levels.

My enhancements were based on common sense and basics of physics:
I beg to differ !!! :p

The case needs to be sealed and no gaps between the fans and case for best results and he goes and suspends the fans in the air and drills holes in the case. :D

I cant see how any of that helped, apart from being a complete mess, surely some quiet fans and some sticky back foam pads on a couple of joins could have done that. Quite possibly the worst DIY job ive ever seen, I feel slightly ill after seeing that. :D

Quiet fans are not silent. Most people can still hear them. Suspending them reduces the noise they make.

I still fail to see why there's so much uproar about this, you all obviously don't spend much time on SPCR.:p
