Booked Flights and Villa now chaps!

Just want to get some ideas for car hire. I'm not going to skimp on this but don't need to go super overboard.

Something "intermediate", mazda 6 ish (4 door saloon, etc).

Any good tips for discounts etc?

Thanks

If you are flying into Sanford airport in Florida, I used "Alamo" car rental as you can book in advance and they have an office right next to the terminal! So it was a case of get off the plane, pay for the car and away I went. Then bring it straight back to the airport, drop it off and get on the plane.

If you are going to another airport then I have no idea! Alamo is here - http://www.alamo.com/

They have offices all over Florida though so if the car buggers up I would asssume it would be easy enough to swap over.

Last summer we booked through easy car for a week in Hawaii, the actual car was supplied by Alamo and we got a free upgrade from the entry level to a Pontiac G6 GT which was a nice surprise!

Was easily the cheapest we found and got a nice bit back on quidco, it seems most of the car hire companies do cashback so definately check these!

I went with Hertz when I went to Florida and upgraded at the desk from the crappy little thing that was inclusive to the Sebring. Well worth doing.

No hassle at all.

Shame you've booked a villa, being stuck in one place your whole trip sucks.
Doesn't mean you can't drive / fly to other locations ;)
We had a Villa for 3 weeks in Orlando in November but took a week out to drive to Miami and the Florida Keys. Stayed in some very decent hotels along the way as well :)

As already mentioned - Alamo are worth checking out.
