What motherboard will clock a q6600 to 3.5/3.6Ghz and also has support to run a Ati 4870 and also say a Nvidia 8500GT for Physx. Cheers.

Cheers mate, budget... as cheap as possible, don't have too much to spend. ;) So an Abit IP35 pro wouldn't be able to do it. What about X38 chipsets?

I am in no way certain, but I can't see why an Abit IP35Pro wouldn't do what you want.

It will definately give you scope for 3.6, will handle a 4870, and can do Crossfire, so I would imagine a Physx card could work no probs.

I stand to be corrected though

p35 and x38 will work too, i ommitted those on my first post, as i wasnt sure on how widely available those chipsets were now

8500GT is going to be a bit weak for physx... but theres nothing aside from Batman AA out at the moment where PhysX is worth bothering with anyhow...

It would be fine yes, but unless you already have the board, I'd look for something else.

As much as I liked my abit boards (was a die-hard abit fan), the fact that they no longer produce boards means that bios updates aren't happening, and their last batch of boards weren't the best supported in terms of memory modules or stability. I ditched my IP35-PRO in favor of a 2nd hand Intel DX38BT, which cost me a whole £20.
