Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

I dont mind OCing it it it will help out, its under water anyway. Few things i'm going to try though is.

A. 9.12 Hotfix drivers
B. adding a +fullproc startup switch on the shortcut to force use of 4 cores.
C. This insane suggestion

Amazingly this C. suggestion seemed to give me around a 10 FPS boost. I am pretty sure I was getting an average FPS in the 40's before, changing to X8 AA and I am in the 50's. Also max FPS in the low 70's now, which again I am pretty sure it never was before.
Cheers for this, oh go on I'll say it, heads up LOAM. :D
*Edit. I tried this last night and thought to thank you for it first thing this morning; I hadn't even read the post's since, to notice you had suggested it again a few post's above. Bloomin' went searching throught this thread to find where you said it aswell. :p
I haven't tested it extensively, and I find it hard to notice AA a great deal at my 1280x1024, though it does seem to look better too. Just seems so hard to believe. Cheers buddy.:D
As I said needs testing more though, because when I first came into game my FPS were lower than usual, in the 30's, and it felt clunky, like my settings do on high. Then after a minute or two, it settled at the higher than I was used to 50's and felt smooth again. As I said needs testing more.
*Re-edit Oh I am confused now, just went ingame to test. With AAx8 I was getting steady 60-70 going as high as 108 looking at the floor. Thing to note is there was only one other person ingame. I then re-verted to x2 AA and was getting maybe slightly better FPS and 120 looking at the floor. So......... Iam going to shut up and just play for now. :D

Oh one more answer; you say that as if it were the norm? Since when has increasing graphical settings or any settings increased FPS? Never to my knowledge. (Awaits with head bowed to lose it, my head that is.) I believe there is another factor. ;)
Someone else take the gaunlet please, as I said I am done messing.

well it is the norm if your cpu is bottlenecked by your graphics card . basically by raising the graphics you bring the balance back into ratio between cpu and cpu

for instance i did a benchmark on cod 4 with last cpu and at 1024 ,1280,1440,1680

at three bottom settings were same fps then at highest res with all settings up i got more fps.

generally after 1680 x 1050 you should almost eliminate cpu bottleneck.

this game like stated really loves quads. normally a high dually is fine but me personally would say you want a quad minimum :eek:thats not being funny you can see from the amount of threads and the amount of people i speak to daily about the game . most who are having probs fps wise arnt to do with graphics its the cpu under performing.

if you look at this bench

http://gamegpu.ru/Action-/-FPS-/-TPS/battlefield-bad-company-2-beta-gpu.html

they oveclocked there quad to 4ghz just to get rid of anychance of bottleneck happening graphics side.this may be extreme for everyday users but me personally would say have at least a 3+ quad to play game and it should be pretty smooth

God this game is good, In TS last night someone uttered the words "I think this might be better than BF2"

thats all I have to say.

I don't know if I'm expecting too much from the game but I really thought I'd be getting more than 45-65fps with a 9650 and a gtx295 with 4xaa
I would just like a smooth fps game play

I managed to get it running on my 9600M GT. Boy, it felt good to use the mouse!

any good? Iv got a 8600m GT that im using for a few month so I wanna know if its worth ordering on steam due to play being lying ****s telling me its a server problem that my key is in use.

if any of you guys have been having problems with your ATI 5770 cards, I have appeared to sure everything with the 10.1 drivers.

I had the 9.12 hotfix before.

What a plonker. I did mean 8600M GT (it's on my Dell Vostro) not 9600. It does feel a little flakey - perhaps 20fps - but it's enough for me to knock a few heads out. :D However, I wouldn't like to use it as the main platform for the game on my spec - I'll be getting it for PS3 until I can afford to build a new PC.

Would it be worthwhile me selling my Dual Core E8400 and getting a quad core Q8400 or Q9400?

I can't afford a platform upgrade to i7.

I have a 4870 1Gb, but again can't really justify an upgrade to that. Would a 5870 be much different?
