Was going to get the "Hunter" Special Edition, but after seeing the Bioshock 2 Special edition, this seems less "Special".

Just a heads up, Current cheapest preorder is £16.95 from Zavvi for AvP on PC in case anyone hasn't preordered yet.

I wanted the Hunter Edition but seeing that price I can't justify the cost really :(

Also, seeing as the Bioshock 2 Special Edition is the same price, it makes the AVP one look COMPLETELY UTTERLY PANTS.

 
Why is this game so cheap? Given the hype, and from what I have seen on bit-tech, I would have been happy to pay up to £10 more for pre-order.

Makes me a little sceptical!
 
The RRP is £29.99.

I am assuming that SEGA Europe have decided to sell the game at a lower cost per unit to retailers to allow them sell at such low prices OR retailers are unsure if the product will shift at a higher price.

It is also sandwiched into a MAMMOTH month for game releases.

Mass Effect 2: 29th Jan
Bioshock 2: 9th Feb
Aliens Vs Predator: 19th Feb
Supreme Commander 2: 2nd March
Battlefield: Bad Company 2: 5th March

Also, owing to the amount of time passed since the last game in the franchise, the name alone will not sell it so they are pricing it accordingly to attract new gamers to the franchise. Good logic by Sega.

SEGA's announced that an Aliens vs. Predator demo will be available tomorrow on PlayStation Network, Steam and Xbox Live Marketplace.

This sampler shows the online multiplayer side of the game and allows all three species - human, alien, predator - to be played, but only on the Refinery map and in Deathmatch mode.

The full game's out on 19th February here in Europe. "
