Lost-what did the smoke thing turn out to be then

It's explained in the first episode/two episodes of season six, to an extent. If you have been following the show you will understand what it is, if you haven't it will mean nothing to you really.

You'll know exactly what it is after you watch the two hour premiere.

All the way through it I was sitting there exclaiming "say whaaaaat?" It was probably the most twists they have ever worked into an episode.

i stopped watching after season 1. anyone care to simply explain what everything was all about ? is that even possible in a paragraph or two ?

it drove me mad. all my old housemates are still watching it and just say things like '' you will have to watch it to see'' i get the feeling they just dont have a clue...

It's true though, it's basically a modern day version of Twin Peaks, no one had any idea what was going on in that at any one time. It's the same with Lost.

Please never compare the wonder of Twin Peaks to the massive floating unexplained turd that is Lost :(

It's true about the fact that no one ever had any idea whats going on. The same thing happened with Twin Peaks, you can't deny that part of it and that was the only comparison I was making.

:D Haha.

I'll confess to only watching the first two series' and I'm surprised I managed to stick it out that long. It was a great idea ruined by ridiculous events. Ooh, now there's a hidden bunker, now there's a polar bear, now there's ****ing time travel. What next? Aliens?

If they just stuck it at people surviving a plane crash and having to live on this island, kept it to 2 series' at the most then it could've been half decent if you take all the stupid sci-fi bull**** out of it.

That's the same rubbish I hear most people spouting, I mean fair enough it's your opinion and you don't have to like it, but ALL that stuff does get fully explained in the fullness of time, if you stick with it, so it's not like they are throwing in unexplained **** for the fun of it. That's one of the great ways the series plays with your mind, the things you think are mysterious and W.T.F(!), are actually the things that turn out to be the most mundane and reasonable when they do finally get explained. The really stuff you don't see coming :)

The fact that any of those things happen, explained or unexplained, is still ridiculous. It's basically a sci-fi series even though the first series had none of this crap. It's like other people have said, the writers have just wanted to milk it for as much as they can and I wouldn't even be surprised if this was left on a massive cliffhanger.

And Twin Peaks wasn't? Lol, that was a massive cliffhanger ending if ever there was. Awesome show though, my favourite TV series of all time (Twin Peaks).
