350Z Good Idea?

I just can't say I like the look of them. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, they just don't look like a sports car?

Just make a list and test drive as many cars as you can.

I know looks have some part to play in choosing a car, but you'd be kicking yourself if you didn't try as many as possible - providing you have the time to do so.

You never know, you might just drive a car which is so nice to drive that you might not be too fussed with its looks. :)

Because it isnt a Sports car. But then neither is a 350Z?

Whilst I agree, he actually said it doesn't "look" like a sports car. The difference is.....the 350z does "look" like a sports car on the outside, but it's actually it's a refined GT at heart. Whereas the BMW looks like a sporty coupe and is just that, a sporty coupe. I think this is the reason why it doesn't appeal to him.

Amraam, I think you should short list the cars that do appeal based on the suggestions in this thread, get a few test drives and insurance quotes and then come back with 2/3 contenders, otherwise it's going to be hard for us to help out without going around in circles :)

Thanks, I will do :)

Typically, its the most expensive and least practical that appeal to me the most! haha

I just wish the Rx8 was a piston engine and had better economy. I would have bought one in a heart beat if that were the case!

Nice cars imo, i had a convertible one last year, wasnt in the same league as the 350z, but cheaper to buy and insure and a bit cheaper to run (petrol wise) dealer parts and servicing will be expensive but there are plenty of specialists out there, and has better tuning capablilites with remaps and big turbos etc if thats what your into :D

and it has 4 seats! :D not as nice inside IMO, but deffo worth a test drive :)

Only £950 to insure instead of £1150 so that's a plus. Being an Audi, would it be much more to service etc than the 350z?

the rear seats are pretty tight tbh but still there seats of a kind, if you were to go to a main dealer id say the audi would cost more to service

Also the interior build quality is better, some of the plastics used in the earlier 350's is a little naff

Yup something else I was afraid of - I freakin HATE rattly plastic, especially as I enjoy audio installs :)

Yeah the back seats are tight, but it would be mainly used for transporting planes etc.

I'll take a test drive soon :)

Plastics werent particularly rattly but just had the noise to them when you tap them :) wasnt the whole dash but just in places, think things improved a bit on 06 year models, should get a plane in the tt no problem as the seats fold too

a bit O/T but about planes ive got one in the garage i got a few years back, 90% built just need to install the engine ...... would love to give it a go where abouts do you fly?

I see, that's kind of the impression I had, I just assumed they were rattly too :) TT's typically get branded as hairdresser's cars but I really don't care. I think the 350Z is nicer but a lot less practical and more expensive to run.

Those quattros do look ace too mind!

Well I used to fly over at the town moor and gosforth (electrics only) but I've only recently got back into them since I've started full time work.

I got myself a TRex 600N (.50) helicopter which I'm hoping to maiden this weekend. I'll be flying with a few lads I met online (www.rcheliaddicts.co.uk) near boldon in south shields.

What type of plane is it? 90% sounds biiig?!

Ah well it's shame to leave it there, get it airworthy. If you like join up the forum. OK, it's mainly heli oriented, but it's got a plane section and the lads I'll be flying with like both helis and planes like I do.
