Damn foxes!!

+ That water thing will probably make a lot of noise too, and if thats what you're trying to stop surely its the wrong thing to start with?

Less noise than your grunting:p.

I was refering to JoeMama when he said .22 as I used to have a play on a .22 Rimfire at Ford rifle range!

I used to shoot .22 in competitions when i was younger so shooting animals the size of an adult dog at 10m would be most boring ;)

Me Big Hunter..Me Kill animal who can't fight Back. Makes Me look Good.
Me Now Make Fire and Burn Hand Then goto the Internet and Cry to Forum.

Get a gun or borrow a friends. Air rifle or real gun. Air rifles might kill them, or it might just be a bit unplesant, either way, you hit htem and they won't be coming back anytime soon.
.

DONT shoot it with an air rifle.....you will do nothing but annoy it. I've got nothing against the OP doing all he can to deter the fox (in fact that's the preferred option before killing it) but shooting it with an air rifle is bloody stupid.

The kind of rifle required to kill a fox humainly would not be legal to shoot in a normal garden anyway (unless you're a farmer and your garden is about 20 acres).

Air Rifle -> Fox feeding at the bottom of garden -> He's a decent shot -> Fox in front of face/eye ->Instantly dead.

Its not the rifle, I agree that a rifle is defo prefable, however its eisily do-able with a good airgun, as long as you're a good shot.

Shooting a fox in the stomach/chest/throat will, I agree, be inhumane and bad, but if you hit around it it will detur it. They can't stand the whizzing noise of them going past like 30cm or so away from it. If you do it enough times they just don't come back.

It is just a fox. As Tank says, I don't really care that much, they make my family emotionally suffer by killing our chickens (not that a fox cares), and kills my livestock in brutal manners. I show it equal respect.

I don't think xJcBx gives a ****! An FAC .22 air rifle giving out minimum of 50ft/lbs would do it within 35 yards imo .

Yes, Anschutz rimfire. It's been a very long time since i last played with one. There's a club nearby and i've been wanting to join for a bit of fun but i'm busy on their club night.

I do miss the old target shooting, can't remember the rifle it was other than it was a Remington. Anschutz sounds a bit fancy not heard of that make before:eek:.

I remember there being an AK47 clone that fired .22, obviously only semi automatic but still fun lol.

That is truly retarded.

Do correct me if I'm wrong, but you live in quite a rural part of southern Wales? And you've never had a problem with foxes that you have to take into your own hands?
Say you did, you would be prepared to spend hundreds of ££ on kit that might not even work, in the name of being humain to a pest?

Alternatively use a gun that most people have lying around(?) and kill it stone dead immediately?
Its not a hard shot to take, its not inhumane and not illegal if you shoot it x meters away from a road (Or just be cautious, nobody will really care).

I don't see what's 'retarded' about pest control in a controlled way, as long as you're not blind and don't hit it in a irresponsible place where it won't die instantly.

Thats correct and no i have never had a problem with foxes and i would never kill a fox or any of the wildlife around here.
