New MSN Virus?

I just had a message sent to me from somebody who I rarely speak to on MSN. It popped up in the corner and said "I'm sure you didn't upload these pics?!" so I literally clicked the pop up window (not any links) to close it as it was obviously not legit and straight away one of my screens went black and the other went white.

I turned my PC off straight away and booted it back up and it seems fine, but I'm running an AVG scan now in case.

Has anybody else experienced this before?

Yeah I had this on a FB email before, but I didnt click the link. Also getting a lot of random people trying to spam me on MSN as well with dodgey links.

I didn't click the link either, but still got the black and white screens...it's very strange - I'm noticing that my PC is making the "dum dum" noise that you get when you unplug a USB device but randomly and I'm not plugging anything in or out...

I logged onto my personal msn for a first time in ages and got 5 new contacts in the following style:

[email protected] /.co.uk

E.g. [email protected]

One of them proceeded to say hello and how am I etc, but more like an Ai chat bot? However, the responses were as expected, fast and predetermined....like a copy and paste, yet I said stuff and the bot was clever enough to react to what I said. Needless to say, our brief conversation ended with "I don't want to speak to a bot, goodbye" (lol) and the usual spam about "see me at my webcam for videos" line came, before I blocked and deleted.

Just be warned that I think this might catch a few people out, because it's a clever bot (like that website where you ask it questions and it reacts).

The Facebook messages are more annoying..

"clllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiickkkkkkkkkk thiiiiiiiiis liiiiiiiinnkknkkkkkkkk fororororrrrrr a prrrrriiiiize"

I've resorted to telling them to run a virus scan and deleting them

Mine never makes that noise, sounds like a warning of impending disaster.

Like this:
Me "I don't know you, where are you from?"
Bot "Which site have I messaged you on again? Probably on there"
They are way to sophisticated for my liking.
But hey, theres mugs out there that sign up to "see them on cam"
because you always get the line....

"id love to chat, but im just going to start my webcam, join me on such and such a site.com" :p

Well AVG has run and my PC is stable so I guess I'm alright...I'm formatting soon to run Windows 7 (currently on the developers copy) so that'll kill any lurking bugs.
