May 1st. MGM !!!

Probably going to be the fight of the decade.

You know, this just brings extra suspicion on Pac-Man as far as I'm concerned.

An excuse thrown around was Mayweather was too afraid to lose his undefeated record. Well Mosley is every bit as dangerous as Manny and maybe even more, being a TRUE welterweight.

The fact he's signed simply quashes the 'He was scared of maybe losing'

I really like Manny Pacquaio but i think he should have taken the fight with the 14day sample. Not taking it makes him look very very guilty now.

Mayweather has played this one very smart.

Also no-one is getting excited over Pacquaio vs Clottey, all eyes are on Mayweather vs Mosley.

Once the PPV's are in for both bouts, Mayweather can then claim more of the share when the two do eventually find themselves in the ring together.

I'm actually glad now the pacquiao - mayweather fight didnt go ahead.

We get 3 potentially awesome fights! :D

Pacman - Clottey
Mayweather - Mosley

Pacman - Mayweather (?)

:)

Can't wait. They are all quite hard to call, I have to say I am v suprised Mayweather has agreed to fight Mosley. If Mosley turns up in good condition and on form, Mayweather has a fight on his hands. :)

Clottey will just end up peppered by shots all night. He's a boring fighter that generates very little interest, don't know why Top Rank chose him.

I haven't seen him fight that often but when I have, he does appear to be quite a big/strong welterweight. He could have beaten Cotto but he just took his foot off the gas, even though he didn't appear to be that tired.

Has he ever been knocked out?

Don't know bout Clottey.. Roach has now come out and said, Pac-Man will fight the winner. Huge incentive for Shane Mosley. Beat Mayweather and he's in for another mega payday.. Things are looking up for him and I'm happy. In my eyes he's up there with Floyd and Pac-Man.. Super fast, super sharp and very very talented. Mayweather will have his hands full come May 1st. This really could go eitherway.

I really really hope its a case of showmanship added to the fact Mayweather decided he had two fights left in him that Pacman pulled out of the fight.

A big hype, a cancelation due to what should be a non issue, an extra round of "qualifiers" then the fight being back on works, its like wrestling, they like to build up fights and get more viewers, get more betting going and really want people to take sides so they are more invested, so they do both those things.

If it was really a case of Pacman not wanting to be drug tested, its worrying. With one of the guys behind one of the biggest doping scandals in the world(one of the guys who invented the drug Marion Jones and numerous others took) now works for the main anti-doping agency, and he's recently gone on record saying boxing drug testing is beyond worthless.

If Pacman needs time to flush his system before a heavy and proper drug testing build up to a Mayweather fight, well, thats a shame. Because Pacman would still have a supreme boxing talent, skill and style, even if he was slightly weaker, slightly less fast and able to train slightly less.

Thing is his needle phobia excuses are such BS, a guy who has multiple tattoo's is not afraid of needles, the "weaker from blood taken" thing is ridiculous also.

Either way, hopefully we will just get an extra two fights before the BIG fight, and more entertainment before a Mayweather/Pacman final showdown.

HOpefully this won't be the utterly awful fight that Clottey vs Pacman gave us.

Been a while again since I've seen a half decent fight, let alone since seeing a truly great fight. Haye against a lumbering freak, Pacman against a multitude of people who aren't in the same league with one/two half decent fights thrown in, Mayweather not getting tested.

The hatton fights were only interesting in seeing how bad Hatton was, I don't think bar mayweather vs pacman, we'll actually see that many "great" fights around as too many boxers fight people who are sooo much worse its just not worth watching.

should be half decent fight, though would have been insane if had been 3 years agao, mosley isnt getting any younger

That's one of the best parts of this fight IMO
Makes it much more unpredictable with Mayweather's inactivity and Mosley's form is really unpredictable.

To go from looking absolutely terrible and getting outboxed  by Mayorga to taking apart Margarito shows just how much Mosley's form changes.

Well for this year boxing is only just starting to heat up. Maidana vs Cayo was a very good fight a couple of weeks back. Guzman-Funeka was on the same night which made that a very solid card. In the next three weeks we've got Pavlik vs Martinez, Bute vs Miranda, Arreola vs Adamek, and Mayweather vs Mosley. Then a few weeks later we've got Khan vs Malignaggi and Mitchell vs Katsidis, the latter of which should be a cracker.

This is a pretty awesome line up if you ask me.

i think you should watch more of israel Vazquez's fights, if you want to see a great warrior, great fighter and great action, he is all that wraped into one.
