Mx-5 - Eagle F1 GSD2 or GSD3?

Oh? So which is the tyre to go for? You're basically saying that both are 'old' types ci_newman?

I can't see what tyre is on it at the moment as it's not my car, theDude.

f1 asymmetric's are the GDS3 replacment but i dont think they do they in 15's ... Go for the GDS 3 if you can get them. Go look at your sidewall of your tyre to get the size .... will be something like

195/45/15

Local tyre place advised me that Asymmetric is 17" upwards. Smaller rim sizes (like my 16") still use the GSD3.

GSD2's were discontinued over 12 months ago.

They still make the GSD3s for 15s and 16s I thought?

Most likely they'll be 185/60/14 on 14" wheels for MX5s. I came to the conclusion I needed to buy 15" wheels to get decent tyres :)

I can get gds3s for mine £257 fitted (set of four) I keep putting it off though, as I want them to be reasonably new when I go to the ring

the thicker the tyre tread the more likely it is to wear faster. i wouldnt go there with bran new tyres. Put a couple of 1000 miles on them first would be the better option.

For your Mx-5?

I agree soviet spy bob - but it's not my car and I'd rather it have longer wearing tyres if possible.
